Summary of the Software Registration Process Prior to requesting that your software is registered with Department of Education/Department of Social Services (DSS) you will need to have tested all of the interfaces against the CCMS Development Test Site environment that DSS has made available. Once development has been completed and tested, registration can proceed along the following steps: Step 1 When you are confident that your software meets the technical specification and you have successfully tested against the Development Test Site environment, you should contact Department of Education via the ccmsregistration@education.gov.au mailbox to nominate for registration. Complete testing. There are approximately 20 test scenarios covering all of the interfaces listed in the Service Provider Interface Technical Specification that need to be successfully completed. You will be provided with instructions on how the testing will be conducted, the evidence trail you will need to maintain to show that the testing was successful and standard connection and testing information, such as seed data (valid CRN’s) source system code and URL. Provide DSS with a signed Business Assurance Statement. The Business Assurance Statement provides DSS and service providers intending to use your software with a level of assurance about the development process for your product and the integrity of data that will be exchanged via the interfaces. The Business Assurance Statement is based on the CCMS IT Security Principles for Software Developers. A copy of the CCMS IT Security Principles for Software Developers is also attached. When you have successfully completed testing and provided DSS with a signed copy of the Business Assurance Statement your software will be registered. Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 An essential part of the software registration process is to ensure that the Business Practice Software, which will be purchased by Child Care Services, complies with CCMS requirements. To participate in registration testing the Business Practice Software needs to be complete and ready for use by Child Care Services. Registration will not be given for test harnesses or intermediate systems. As part of the registration process, evidence will be required that the Business Practice Software has been used in the registration process and successfully executed the prescribed tests. This evidence is in addition to completing each of the registration test scenarios. Post Registration Your company details and software (specified version) will be listed as registered on the Department of Education’s CCMS website. The list of registered software on the webpage will inform child care services which software complies with CCMS requirements. Re-Registration You will need to re-register your software each time DSS initiates system changes which impact on the interface. You will also need to inform Department of Education/DSS in writing when you intend to make changes to your product which may impact the interface. Any changes, including upgrades, you make to your software that will impact the interface will require re-registration. 2
