This meet will be conducted under the auspices of Southeastern Swimming, Inc. of USA Swimming. USA
Swimming technical rules and regulations will be followed with the exception of items specifically addressed in
the meet information Sanctioned by Southeastern Swimming, Inc.

LOCATION:

James W. Grant Recreation Center,
Westgate Memorial Park
Dothan, Alabama.
FACILITIES: Indoor 8-lane, 6 used for competition, 25 yard pool with water depths at the start end of 5’-12’,
and at the turn end 3’6”. Non-turbulent lane lines and fully automatic Colorado electronic timing system and
scoreboard with lane/time/place/event/heat display. The competition course has been certified in
accordance with 104.2.2C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. There will be a
warm up/ warm down lane available throughout the competition. Limited bleacher seating is available. The
gymnasium is available for teams to set up personal chairs. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including
a cell phone, is not permitted in changing area, rest rooms or locker rooms. Except where venue facilities
require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is
not appropriate and is prohibited.
RULES: CurrentUSA Swimming rules will govern the conduct of the meet unless
otherwise noted herein.

ELIGIBILITY: All participants must be USA Swimming registered athletes. No on-deck registration will be
permitted. Entries will not be accepted without current registration numbers. Coaches and officials must
present evidence of certification as required by Southeastern Swimming. A swimmer’s age on the first day of
the meet will determine his or her age for the entire meet.
WARM UP: Southeastern Swimming Meet Safety Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect at this
meet. The Meet Director will post and announce the warm-up assignments prior to the start of the meet
warm-up. Swimmers attending the meet without a coach must report to the Meet Director or Referee to be
assigned a coach for warm-up prior to each session. There will be a warm/up warm down lane available
throughout the meet.
The Meet Director and Referee reserve the right to adjust the event order and/or course designations for
specific age groups and/or genders, combine sessions and/or adjust warm-up schedules and/or competition
start time if the number of entries warrants in order to run the meet more efficiently.
ENTRIES: Teams using Hytek software are encouraged to submit entries as an email file. Please send email
entries to dpynes@comcast.net . A hard copy of entries must be included for proofing. Entry forms must be
completely filled out including the swimmers’ best times for yards.
DISABILITIES: Swimmers with disabilities are welcome and must complete the Information Form for Disabled
Swimmers and return it with the entries.
DEADLINE: Entry disks and/or printouts, summary/release sheets, and entry fees including surcharges must
be received by the Meet Director on or before FRIDAY June 6, 2014.
LATE ENTRIES: Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Meet Director/Meet Referee up to 30
minutes prior to the start of each session. Swimmers may not scratch an event in order to late enter another.
Late entries accepted will be placed in open lanes of existing heats. No new heats will be formed and no heats
will be reseeded. A late entry fee will be charged as noted below and must be paid at the time the swimmer
or relay is accepted, unless teams have made other arrangements with the Meet Director.

FEES: $4.00 per individual event
$8.00 per relay
$3.00 SES surcharge for each swimmer
$5.00 Surcharge for non SES athletes
$7.00 Facility fee per swimmer/downloadable heat sheet
Late fees: $10.00 per individual event, $10.00 per relay.

LIMITS: Swimmers are limited to 5 individual events per day, exclusive of relays. The competition will be
limited to the first 400 swimmers (200 swimmers per session.)
MEET FORMAT: All events are timed finals and will be seeded according to USA Swimming rules. All events
400 yards and longer will be deck seeded and require a positive check in. All other events shall be pre-seeded.
All deck seeded events may be swum fastest to slowest alternating girls and boys. Swimmers must sign in with
the clerk of course for all deck seeded events. Sign in deadline is 15 minutes after the last warm-up period
starts for the deck seeded events in that session. If the swimmer is not checked in with the clerk of course, the
swimmer is legally scratched from the event. Only the swimmer or his/her coach may sign in for deck seeded
events.
SCORING: Points for first through eighth places in Individual events will be awarded as follows: 9 7 6 5 4 3 2 1.
Points for first through eighth places in Relay events will be awarded as follows: 18 14 12 10 8 6 4 2.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded for first through eighth place in all individual events, and first through
third places in relay events. Awards will be given to the top 8 finishers in 8-U, 9-10, 11-12 age groups. Awards
will be given to the top 3 finishers in 13-14, senior age groups. High point team awards will be given to the top
3 visiting teams.
COACHES’ MEETING: A coaches’ meeting will be held prior to the beginning of the Friday session, then as
necessary after that.
SAFETY: In the interest of safety and accident prevention, coaches and swimmers are asked to observe all
posted pool rules and conduct themselves in a safe manner. Any questions or concerns should be reported to
the Meet Director through the office of the Clerk of Course. ONLY MEET WORKERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS,
AND SWIMMERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK AREA BEHIND THE STARTING BLOCKS. For all 8 &
Under events, a “bullpen” area will be operated directly behind the blocks. Coaches, please ensure your
swimmers report PRIOR to their event. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA
Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in
performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer
or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.
