Even the low handicappers were reaching for their drivers when going for the £5,000.00
prize for a hole in one at the 202 yard third hole. The westerly wind certainly was a major
factor in the result with Matt Whiteford recording two 2's both wind assisted to help him
return a magnificent score of 40 stableford points.
Lauder Golf club wish to thank all competitors for their support and hope to see them
again next year in more favourable weather conditions. Thanks also to Aileen Scott Aiton
and her team of ladies for operations in the kitchen serving food and refreshments
generously donated by members. For the £5,000.00 prize we required an independent
witness at the third hole, thanks to Hugh Shaw and Alex McLean for their vigilance which
unfortunately was to no avail.
