GERMANTOWN FRIENDS SCHOOL POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION: REPORTS TO: DEPARTMENT: FLSA: START DATE: School Nurse School Nursing Team Health Services Part Time, Exempt August 24, 2015 Germantown Friends School is seeking a part-time School Nurse who will work in conjunction with a team of two other nurses to support students and employees. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing nursing care to ill and injured students and employees. Characteristics Include: ● The nurse will demonstrate cooperative and positive working relationships with students, parents and employees and will participate in various school related events and meetings. ● Strong communication and organizational skills are a requirement in this vibrant community. Qualifications: ● Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the state of Pennsylvania ● Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting ● Current First Aid and CPR certification ● Teaching experience is beneficial. Physical Requirements: ● Requires standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine motor and gross motor skills, bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. ● Ability to lift students as required and the stamina to stand all day as needed. Schedule: ● Two days per week from 9 a.m - 5 p.m. ● Flexibility is essential, as assigned working days may vary week to week. Employment is subject to satisfactory completion of reference checks and proper clearances, as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
