2008 Germantown Farmers’ Market Vendor Survey Thank you to all the vendors who helped make the Germantown Farmers’ Market a success. Thank you to Gayle and Greg Dombrow for the countless hours and Saturdays they worked for the market. The revitalization of the Germantown Farmers’ Market was a project of Leadership Germantown. The goals of the project were to: 1. Increase the number of patrons attending the market. 2. Increase the number of vendors selling at the market. 3. Increase the diversity of products sold. 4. Find someone to oversee/manage the market. All four goals were accomplished but there is always room for improvement. Please answer the following questions and return to Gayle or Greg Dombrow. Thank you! 1. A grant from the Tourism and Betterment Fund paid for most of the advertising this year. This is a one year grant so we will not have as much money to advertise for next year’s market. Would you be willing to pay a $50 vendor fee instead of $35 next year to help defer the cost of advertising? 2. What other forms of advertising would you suggest using for next year? We used radio, newspaper, road signs, fliers, and word of mouth. 3. We had a nice balance of produce, bakery, crafts and other homemade goods this year. A suggestion was made earlier in the season to change the name of the market. Would you like to see the name of the market changed to better reflect the the diversity of products sold at the market? If so, what suggestions do you have for a new name? 4. A suggestion was made to ask community groups to run the brat fry for a fundraiser next season. This might draw more people to the market. What are your thoughts on this topic? What specific groups should we target? 5. Past Vendors: What did you like about this year’s market compared to the past? New Vendors: What did you like about this year’s market? 6. What overall improvements can be made to make next year’s market a bigger success? 7. What other types of products would you like to see sold at next year’s market? 8. At this point, will you be back selling your product at next year’s market?
