Map Scale is 1:3000 (Small area)
The map has been recently updated so that this area has individual trees mapped and the
problems around Dog Hill have been corrected.
Parallel Green lines over light yellow mean High grass/weeds over 6 feet high so expect slow
going in these areas. This is summertime growth. This map symbol usually means thorns but
in this case it is just extremely high and thick weeds (over 6 feet tall)
Light Yellow is normally pretty fast but in this case, some of these areas can be some thick. The
vegetation is shorter than 5 feet high so quite visible and I did not see many thorns in these
areas.
Legs are designed for use of Route choice to be sure to decide before you get to each control.
Many legs are designed so you can see your opponents. Be sure to wave to your friend but
don’t follow as they might be going to a different control then you. There are a couple of Dog
Legs.
Trees are mostly marked but none of the baby trees and the medium sized trees are sometimes
inconsistent.
There are lots of similar features (Trees). Double check your control # to make sure you are at
the correct control. NO DQs!
I did not see many thorns out there but probably some poison Ivy so beware.
Most controls are placed in easy locations but on some legs the best choice is going through the
woods so leg protection is recommended.
Weather forecast is hot and humid so bring water.
All Control Descriptions are in IOF Format (Not English). So learn here if you do not know them
or need a brush up.
Please be sure to stay out of the “Out of Bounds” area between #2 and #3. These areas are
designated by parallel magenta lines.
Chase the Rabbit is: 2.2k. 75m of climb. 24 Controls.
o The Bunny 1.9k 60m of climb. 18 Controls
You can go on both courses with the following rules:
If you are not participating in the “Chase the Rabbit” Handicap Sprint, you can go on the Bunny
course but can also go on the longer course (Chase the Rabbit) but you will have to wait until
well after the last person has started. If you are participating in the “Chase the Rabbit” Sprint,
you can go on the Bunny AFTER you have completed the Rabbit. The Bunny is an Elapsed time
course so you can start anytime.
Families are always welcome to our meet but we will not be able to have people race together
on this event. Everyone goes out solo.
