On behalf of the College Panhellenic Association at
Florida Atlantic University I’d like to thank you for your
interest in becoming part of the 2015 Panhellenic
Recruitment team. Recruitment Counselors serve an
important role in the formal recruitment process and
we’re thrilled you’re showing interest in this
responsibility.
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the requirements detailed in
this application. You must also be able and willing to fulfill the obligations to
which you will be held.
This document contains all necessary paperwork to complete your application.
It outlines the procedures for application and explains the expectations and
standards Recruitment Counselors are held to. If you have any questions or

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a currently enrolled student at FAU in good standing with the University and
your organization.
Must hold active status in chapter for the duration of her position (February 2015October 2015).
Must currently have and maintain a GPA of 2.5.
Must abide by the Panhellenic Constitution, Bylaws, Recruitment Rules, and
Unanimous Agreements.
Must attend all training sessions and the Recruitment Counselor Retreat unless
otherwise excused by the Vice President of Recruitment.
You will need to disaffiliate via physical identification and all social media beginning May
1st, 2015.
Job Description
Encourage and make an effort to maintain Potential New Members’ interest in joining a
sorority.
Make potential members feel they have a Panhellenic friend who is capable of guiding
them through the recruitment process.
If necessary, assist potential members in their adjustment to Florida Atlantic University
and life away from home.
Make the recruitment experience enjoyable and memorable for potential members by
guiding them through the process.
Encourage potential members to remain in the recruitment process and stop any
rumors and attitudes that may be harmful to them, the sororities and the Greek
community.
Explain and assist with the mechanics of recruitment.
Be available to potential members at all times and help with any problems they have.
Provide an objective liaison between the chapters and potential members as an aid to
communication.
Provide an understanding and explanation of the mutual selection process.
Assist the Recruitment Team and CPA Executive Team in the smooth and efficient
operation of Formal Recruitment.
Time Commitment
During the spring 2015 semester approximately three training sessions will be held
which will be 3-4 hours each.
During summer you will NOT have to stay local, however, communication is extremely
important. You will need to be back no later than Wed., August 5th, 2015. We will work
with those living on campus to find temporary housing.
Recruitment Counselor Retreat TBA
During Formal Recruitment in the fall [August 23- August 30] you are expected to arrive
at your designated location early and to stay until all work is completed and dismissed
by the recruitment staff.
There will be one post-Formal Recruitment meeting for Recruitment Counselors you will
need to attend.

Recruitment Counselor Attendance/ Participation Agreement
The Recruitment Counselors play a vital role in Sorority Recruitment. The
Recruitment Counselors are the primary means of communication between Panhellenic and
the potential new members. Therefore, Panhellenic must ensure that each Recruitment
Counselor actively and fully participates in the training program. Attendance at all
meetings and training sessions is mandatory. Any unexcused absence will result in
appropriate disciplinary action and possible dismissal.
By signing this pledge, you are agreeing to come to all meetings and the retreat and
to disaffiliate from your chapter and are pledging to not help your sorority with
preparations for Fall Recruitment and to not display your sorority letters on your clothing,
car, or other items, beginning on May 1, 2015 through Bid Day (August 30th, 2015) in the
Fall of your term as a Recruitment Counselor. You are also expected not to socialize with
other members of your sorority during the week before and the week of Formal
Recruitment.
Failure to abide by these rules will result in immediate dismissal. We are confident
that you will find the entire Recruitment Counselor experience enriching and rewarding if
you will abide by these guidelines. Thank you for your interest and cooperation.
