Festival du Film Policier de Liège 2013
Rules for competition / Films admission 2013 :
1) The Festival International du Film Policier de Liège has a purpose of revealing and enhancing
the value of police themed films and supports (also thriller – suspense themes) and to promote the
development of the film industry in the world and to promote it on both levels: professionals and
public level.
2) The 7th edition of the Liège Festival of Police Movies will take place between the 18th and the
21nd of April 2012.
3) The responsible editor for the film selection on the festival chooses and invites the movies
selected and submitted for competition, Premiere or submitted for the Panorama section. All
movies must be presented in their original version and preferably with a French subtitle. A FILM
PRESENTED FOR SELECTION AND CHOSEN FOR THE COMPETITION CANNOT
WITHDRAW ITS APPLICATION. It is mandatory to complete the application form and to send
it back with all useful information (Production company, authorizations for promotion purposes,
Tv,...).
The selected movies will be presented as a Belgian Premiere, even though they could have been
also selected in other foreign festivals.
4) An international jury, designated by the Festival organization, will attribute the prizes of
“Crystal badges” (represented by a crystal star trophy) among the movies presented in
competition as follows:
- « Le Grand Prix du Meilleur film du Festival International du Film Policier de Liège 2013 »
- The Festival Grand Price for Best Movie (along with a 2.500€ check)
- « L’Insigne de Cristal du Meilleur comédien » du Festival International du Film Policier de
Liège 2013.
- The Crystal Badge of the best actor
- « L’Insigne de Cristal de la Meilleure comédienne du Festival International du Film Policier de
Liège 2013. »
- The Crystal Badge of the best actress
- « L’Insigne de Cristal du Meilleur scénario du Festival International du Film Policier de Liège
2013. »
- The Crystal Badge of the best scenario
- « Le Prix du public du Festival International du Film Policier de Liège 2013. »
- The public’s choice prize
During the deliberation of our international jury, the responsable editor for the festival
programming is attending all discussions, but cannot however take part during deliberations or
votes. Anyone interested in the production or exploitation of a movie in competition cannot
participate or be part of the jury.
5) The festival does not pay the movies rental fee for the films entering the competition.
There are no registration fees requested to enter the official festival movie panel, as long as the
movie is selected for the official competition section.
6) The final application dates for films entering the selection is established on the 15th of February
2013. It is mandatory to provide at the same time the complete documentation for the movie
(synopsis, technical factsheet, photos, trailer, cast, dialogue list...).
THE DEADLINE FOR SENDING THE COPIES IS ESTABLISHED ON 15th OF APRIL
2013.
7) The Festival takes in charge the transportation fees (to- and return) for the selected movies, as
long as they are shipped by the official transport company used by the festival (Fedex), with the
exception of a special authorization from festival crew and in case of force majeure only. The
movies will be picked up at the location you indicate, expenses before and after delivery that do
not apply to us will not be taken in charge. If the movies arrive from another festival, all
transportation will be arranged by us, unless a previous agreement between festivals is set. If the
movie must return towards another festival, it will then be at their expense.
8) The accepted projection format is the 35mm or the digital format.
9) Participation to the Festival implies your acceptance of the present rules.
10) In case of a dispute, the French regulation document will prevail, not the English translation
of the document.
