Spanish 1 scope and sequence 2015-2016
Week 1 and 2: Classroom Orientation and Procedures, Alphabet, Pronunciation
Greetings/Introductions, Colors (1.2), Numbers 0-10 (preliminar) (add 10-100 (testested until 1.3),
Days, (preliminar) feases utiles (etapa preliminary)
Week 3: Geography (learn country and capitals) and basic Hispanic culture.
Unit 1 Etapa 1:
Vocabulary formal/informal greetings. Subject Prounouns and verb SER. Gusta ALL (me gusta, te gusta,
le gusta, nos gusta and les gusta) Form of the verb ser (with profession and origin).
AR, ER, IR verb basic conjugations (2.1, 2.2 drill and pre-test only)
Unit 1 Etapa2:
Vocabulary clothing/colors. Definite articles with specific things. Indefinite articles with unspecific things.
Describe others with adjectives and gender. Verb tener to describe people.
Unit 1 Etapa 3:
Vocabulary- family. Verb TENER with years. 1-100 numbers. Express possession using “de”
Expressing possession using adjectives. Giving dates with day and month.
Review AR, ER, IR verb basic conjugations
THANKSGIVINGUnit 2 Etapa 1:
Focus on AR verbs (will be tested on semester final) Expressing frequency with adverbs.

Saying what you know the verb SABER (irregular) Comparisons.

Vocabulary describe weather and how you feel. Describing the weather
Tener expressions. Direct object pronouns Pressent progressive
Review for final
