Develops and provides standardized recipes for child care providers. At the direction of team lead or manager, collects data required for recipe analysis and modification from target worksites and restaurants including partner identified recipes for sodium reduction and associated product labels. Analyzes recipes using nutrition software. Maintains electronic files of all product recipes, nutritional analysis results, information gathered, reports, photographs, and content of correspondences with restaurants/worksites. Develops good relationships with partners to facilitate changes in worksite and restaurant food production to lower sodium content without lowering taste appeal or sales of products. Reinforces key educational message, motivational message, and encouragement of partners to fully participate in the sodium reduction project. Attends meetings at target worksites and restaurants as required. Provides timely follow up with partners. Assists in development, convening and follow up of stakeholder group meeting. Reviews and uses best practices for lowering sodium content. Provides suggestions to team lead for recipe modifications through altered cooking techniques, product substitutions, or other methods to reduce sodium content. Conducts analysis of altered recipes to determine percent sodium reduction. Assists with evaluation of process implementation. Maintains all data records for the project and regularly develops progress reports. Reviews recipes provided from child care centers and homes and revises where needed to include whole foods, and standardized for Child and Adult Care Food Program requirements. Recipes should improve nutrition for children and maximize the reimbursement from CACFP for the child cares. Participate in Healthy Communities team meetings, planning, education, leadership sharing, and evaluation. Develops work plan, tracks and reports work accomplished, writes reports, and participates in logic model review. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutrition and Exercise, or a closely related field PLUS a minimum of two years of experience working in the nutrition field which includes restaurants or cafeteria work.
