YANG, Xuexian Principal Investigator/Program Director (Last, First, Middle): BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH NAME POSITION TITLE Xuexian O.YANG Assistant Professor in Immunology & Inflammation Member, UNM Cancer Center eRA COMMONS USER NAME XOYANG EDUCATION/TRAINING DEGREE (if applicable) INSTITUTION AND LOCATION Peking Union Medical College, Beijing University of Washington, Seattle U of Texas M D Anderson Cancer Center, Houston PhD Postdoc Postdoc YEAR(s) FIELD OF STUDY 1999 Mol. Biology & Biochem. 2000-2003 Immunobiology 2005-2006 Immunology A. Personal Statement My work focuses on lymphocyte and cytokine biology, and their roles in immune and inflammatory responses. My previous work has contributed to understanding the development of T helper lymphocytes and their function in inflammatory diseases including cancer. Currently, we are working on the roles of T cell cytokines and their cytokine products in modulation of cancer microenvironment. My experiences make me suitable for the proposed role. B.
