The Big Eat Out is an initiative run by Canterbury Festival, a registered charity and nonprofit organisation. It is designed to promote local restaurants during the Festival and to
give the city that Festival feeling by involving as many of Canterbury’s businesses as
possible. Started in 2007, the scheme has already proved popular with many of the 60,000
customers who enjoy the Festival annually, either grabbing
dinner before or after a show, taking the opportunity to eat
out midweek, or simply trying somewhere they have never
dined before.
This is a fantastic marketing opportunity for your business
and we would love to have you join us. Ideally, the
restaurants involved will agree to offer a 2 course meal,
usually from a set menu, for £10 during the Festival (from
6pm, weekends included).
Following feedback from previous years, restaurants can now
also opt to offer a 2 course menu for a different price
however; the established £10 offer has proved very popular
in the past. Or you could simply choose to appear in our ‘Or
try...’ section and still avail of the scheme’s benefits.
To ensure maximum exposure, spaces are limited - book
early to avoid disappointment!

Big Eat Out scheme will bring numerous benefits to your
business. There is a one-off administration charge of £50

 25 words of copy and a photograph in the Festival brochure
 Listing, photograph and link to your website on the Festival website
 Inclusion in any Festival press releases referencing the Big Eat Out
