HELLA presents lighting and electronics solutions at the
Busworld trade show
Product range for the 90 millimeter module expanded // Focus on electronic
systems and components for city buses and coaches
Lippstadt, Germany, October 10, 2013. The lighting expert HELLA is presenting
innovative solutions for automotive lighting and electronics at Busworld, the
international specialized trade show for city buses and coaches, in Kortrijk, Belgium
from October 18 to 23, 2013. The focal points for the HELLA trade show booth (Hall 1,
Booth 106) include the expanded 90 millimeter module product range, vehicle-specific
lighting concepts and energy management systems and sensors for greater efficiency,
safety and comfort.
The light expert is unveiling five additional variants of the 90 millimeter module with
innovative LED technology. They are able to implement up to three functions per
module using light-emitting diodes: Fog lights, fog lights and daytime running
lights/position lights, fog and cornering lights as well as high beams and daytime
running lights/position lights. The expansion of the product line enables implementation
of the 90 millimeter module in the headlamps of various target groups—city buses and
coaches, passenger vehicles, recreational vehicles, electric vehicles and agricultural
and construction machinery. The new modules also draw attention with their distinctive
design: A ring-shaped edge light guide provides especially uniform daytime running
light. The products also have a very long service life due to the integrated LED
technology, making them practically maintenance free. The light from the LEDs is better
adapted to human vision due to the light color being similar to daylight, which reduces
fatigue. The new modules feature a durable, passively cooled housing made from diecast aluminum and have been equipped with a cover lens made of polycarbonate which
both reduces the weight of the module and makes it very resistant to impact from rocks.
Converting to the new LED modules is also possible without any additional equipment.
They are ECE type approved and suitable for use in 12 and 24-volt electric systems.

Electronic systems and components for city buses and coaches represent another focal
point at the HELLA trade show booth. Some of the innovations the automotive supplier
is presenting include intelligent battery sensors, voltage stabilizers, pedal sensors, oil
pressure sensors, rain and light sensors and radio transmitter keys. HELLA has
extensive, long-standing expertise working with automotive electronics. The automotive
supplier is transferring this expertise to applications for city buses and coaches.
