Group Overview
Noteworthy will learn nine songs for our fall season. We will perform at outside gigs during late November and early
December. Noteworthy will then break during the winter musical and will begin rehearsals again on March 4th. Two
new songs will then be added to the set. We will perform at the spring spirit assembly April 11th and at our annual
concert on April 11th and 12th. On April 25-27th we will perform in St. Louis for our spring tour.
Rehearsals
Tuesdays: 6:30 – 8:45 PM in the choir room
Thursdays: 6:30 – 8:45 PM in the 3rd floor dance gym
Some Saturdays 10:00 – 2:30 PM in the 3rd floor dance gym (see calendar)
Rehearsal Attire: Wear clothing and shoes you can dance in. Examples: jazz shoes, dance/yoga pants, tanks/tees
sneakers/jazz shoes, track pants/shorts, tees No flip-flops

November 20that 7:00 PM – Oak Park Public Library in the Veterans Room
*November 22nd from 9:45 AM – 2:00 PM – Middle School Tour
November 26th at 7:00 PM – Oak Park Arms
December 2nd at 7:00 PM – Holley Court
December 3rd at 8:00 PM – Women’s Club at St. Bernadine’s in Forest Park
*December 6th at 12:00 PM – Daley Center in downtown Chicago
December 7th at Time TBD – Downtown Oak Park Winter Fest at Chase Bank
December 12th at 7:00 PM – Cheney Mansion
January 6th at Time TBD – Perform 2 songs for faculty in south café
January 28th at 6:00 PM – 8th Grade Open House in south café
April 11th at 2:30 PM – OPRFHS Spirit Assembly
April 11th and 12th at 7:30 PM – Noteworthy Concert in the OPRFHS Auditorium
*April 25-27th – Spring tour to St. Louis
*Students will be missing school for these performances and must take responsibility for any missed work, and inform
their teachers ahead of time of their absence.
Shoes:
 Women are responsible for purchasing shoes and briefs
o Women’s tan t-strap character shoes: $36.00
o Women’s briefs: $9.00
 Men are responsible for purchasing shoes
o Men’s jazz sneaker: $47.00
Costumes
 A costume fee of $65 is due by August 29th
 Students are responsible for all costume items for the duration of the school year.
 Students are responsible for keeping their costumes clean and presentable.
 Lost items that need to be replaced will be at the student’s expense.
**Students can fill out a scholarship form for payment assistance.
St. Louis Spring Tour April 25-27
 Trip cost is $439 and includes all activities, transportation, and meals (except for stops on the road).
 Students can pay for this trip using their APPLAUSE fundraising account.
 Students will have other fundraising opportunities this fall to help pay for their trip.
 Scholarships are available through APPLAUSE and through Noteworthy.
Sheet Music
 All music is the responsibility of the student for the duration of the school year.
 All music must be returned at the end of the school year.
 Students will be responsible for paying the replacement cost of unreturned music.
Attendance
 It is essential you are on time and present at all rehearsals and performances. Please be aware of the following
guidelines:
1. Absences and tardies are unexcused if it is not given to Ms. Hooper in writing before the absence.
Never assume Ms. Hooper knows where you are. Give every absence in writing.
2. Any absence or tardy for a school related activity or medical reason are excused as long as the absence
is provided in writing to Ms. Hooper prior to the absence.
3. Students are responsible for learning any and all songs and dances taught during the missed
rehearsal(s).
4. If you miss the entire rehearsal on a black-out date (see calendar), a swing may take your place at the
next performance.
5. 2 Unexcused absences may result in a swing taking your place at the next performance.
6. 3 Unexcused absences may result in removal from the group.
7. 2 Unexcused tardies may result in a swing taking your place at the next performance.
8. 4 Unexcused tardies may result in removal from the group.
Know your songs and dances, and have fun! The group cannot be successful without everyone’s full commitment.

 Tights/nylons that are as close to their skin color as possible and sheer to the waist (Have multiple pairs on hand
for any performance in case of snags or tears)
