Business Travel Outline teleconferencing options here Encourage staff to install skype or similar teleconferencing technology Energy /Water Maintenance Issues Procedure for reporting broken air con, heating and dripping taps – is one person responsible for reporting to estates? Is a log kept of jobs requested? The university has recently launched EMS (Environmental Management System) which manages any environmental issues on campus, so emailing sustainability@leeds.ac.uk should be included in these procedures. Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) How do they work? The head of the TRV has a sensor which responds to the air temperature around it. When the sensor expands on warming it pushes against a pin which closes the valve. Why should I keep my TRV at number 3? If you leave the valve set on No.3, it will keep the room temperature at about 20 degrees which is comfortable for most people. If the room is warmer than 20 degrees, the radiator will cool down as the thermostat closes, for example in rooms which get heat from the sun. 0 - shut off * - 7c 1- 11-13c 2- 15-17c 3- 19-21c 4- 23-25c 5- 27-29c Shutdown Procedures What to switch off each night and for longer holiday periods should be developed and displayed by your Green Impact team.
