St. Helena, CA – NapaShakes will present the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre of London
in its enthralling and inventive touring production of William Shakespeare’s Much
Ado About Nothing in the Barrel Room of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at
Greystone. There will be only four performances November 13-15, 2015, bringing
this world-renowned troupe to an intimate audience limited to 250 people in this
iconic stone building and quintessential Napa Valley location. An exclusive Northern
California engagement, this NapaShakes presentation marks one of only two United
States stops on the Globe’s critically-acclaimed international tour. Select tickets to
the final performance include an invitation to a post-show meet-and-greet party
with the cast.
This extraordinary theatrical experience will be paired with exceptional food and
wine from the CIA’s chefs and sommeliers, with special Shakespeare-themed lunch
and dinner packages at the CIA’s acclaimed Wine Spectator Greystone
Restaurant available for purchase, as well as pre-show concessions and “Much Ado
About Mead Wine” tastings in the Barrel Room, and wine and food tastings at the
Sunday post-show cast reception.
Directed by Max Webster, the Globe’s Much Ado represents a fresh, lively and
thoroughly accessible rendition of one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. The
production stars a cast of eight actors who are double, triple and quadruple-cast to
play all the roles, and who are called upon to dance, sing, fight, tumble, and play
musical instruments. Using an Elizabethan style booth stage – inspired by paintings
and etchings from Shakespeare’s time when touring was prevalent – this fast paced
adaptation breaks the boundaries between the stage and the audience in signature
Globe Theatre style.
Following its successful presentation of the Globe’s “King Lear,” last December, and
its wildly popular series of “Globe on Screen” presentations at St. Helena’s Cameo
Cinema, this presentation of “Much Ado” firmly establishes NapaShakes as the
leading provider of world-class Shakespeare and classical theatre in the Napa Valley.

The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone is a dream destination for people
who love food and wine. A private culinary educational institution, the CIA’s Napa
Valley campus is a 117,000-square-foot stone building known as Greystone Cellars
built for William Bowers Bourn II as a cooperative wine cellar in 1889, and was
notably owned by the Christian Brothers as a winery from 1945 to 1989. It was used
