Vote: 23-8-4 VIII. NEW BUSINESS A. Bill #15012 Ex Officio Legislation i. Presentation ii. It has been known that the two organizations have been part of one big cabinet, and served toward the same purpose, however last year NRHH has decided to move down a different path in organizational goals. This legislation is establishing the type of relationship between RHA and NRHH. This legislation makes it so that the NRHH president will have a vote within senate chambers for bills and such. This legislation creates a clear cut of roles for the NRHH president and how they are seen in the space of RHA. iii. Q/A iv. Everton: what are the negative effects of this not passing? C> It would shift the relationship between NRHH and RHA, but it wouldn’t foster a relationship rather than be just a liasonship. It also leaves no written description of the roles of how each organization needs to work together. We think it’s a really important relationship to maintain a successful relationship v. Will: I was wondering the main reason it was changed in the previous year? C> NRHH wanted to make their organization more separate rather than a crutch from RHA. NRHH has grown and developed in a way where they are strong enough to have their own mission vi. Ali: How would this amendment effect the programs as a whole? C> It solidifies the necessity of the relationship. I means in the future, this relationship will remain positive vii. Julia: Does this affect the way money is maintained? C> There will not be any high visible changes. The only changes would be that the NRHH president viii. ix. x. xi. xii. xiii. xiv. xv. xvi. will take back legislation to cabinet, just like a hall council. Everton: Will the president be joining a committee? C> No. The president would be a cabinet member of RHA, which don’t need to sit on committees. Discussion Michael: I like the bill, I think it benefits both RHA and NRHH Tyler: Having seen the running of executive board, I believe that NRHH had too much of a say in the votes, but I don’t believe that the organizations should be split, so I think it would be a good bill. Will: Since we work with each other, it encompasses a sense of community Jamie: I really like the bill, and I think it will emphasize the positive relationship between the two organizations Vote There is a curfuddle with deciding to vote or bring it back to hall council And there is a vote: 35-0-0 IX.
