Position: General Manager – HNI
Location: Mumbai
About Magic Bus
At Magic Bus, our objective is to ensure India’s poorest children and youth move out of poverty. Our unique
programme starts when a child is 7 years old, and follows his/her journey from childhood to livelihood.
Young adults are fostered to deliver a unique activity-based curricula and to become role models and
mentors for the children. Both the young adults, who work with us as volunteers, and the children, come
from the same communities, enabling a relationship that is both close and constant. We work to empower
children and youth to break out of the poverty cycle by expanding opportunities available to them in the
areas of education, health, gender equity, leadership and livelihood.
Role


To lead the HNI function, which is one of the key verticals within Magic Bus’ fundraising division,
and to be accountable for annual fundraising targets in complete alignment with the organisation’s
Vision, Mission, Values, Organisational objectives and Annual Operating Plan
Develop a sustainable and efficient HNI fundraising strategy for Magic Bus and the
accomplishment of the strategy
Specific Responsibilities
HNI:

To develop the HNI strategy and manage elite clientele

Structure galas across the geographies in India in a phased manner in order to maximise targeted
revenue for the charity
Develop strategies to identify and build the HNI customers for the charity thereby achieving
targeted revenues
Develop product lines in alignment with the interest of the target audience


Donor Relations



Ensure effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is in place
Effective management and liaison with our Strategic Partners, Institutional Funders and
Corporations
To meet customer expectations, particularly in terms of Quality and Timeliness in line with
organisational standards, procedures and guidelines
Leadership



As a part of the leadership team, facilitate strategic assistance to the CMO
Set and demonstrate expected workplace behaviours
Ensure adherence to Magic Bus values in all transactions
Team management



Provide leadership to team of professionals in line with Magic Bus values
Mentor and assist team members with career planning
Manage performance by establishing and reviewing objectives on a regular basis

Desired Competencies












Knowledge of Indian & International markets and fundraising for charity
Knowledge of managing HNIs and nurturing those relationships
Very strong Business Development and Marketing acumen
Knowledge of CRM implementation and sustenance
Able to travel across the Magic Bus markets
Entrepreneurial, with high-energy levels and the passion to succeed
Strong networking skills and relationship orientation
Able to work in ambiguity and be decisive
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Impeccable integrity and high personal ethics
Innovative and solutions-oriented thinker
Able to work across international boundaries
Qualification and Experience:


Management degree or similar professional qualification from a reputed institution
10-15 years of experience in managing HNI customers - 5 years must have been in a similar
leadership role
