What are some things we can vote on? Explore: What are some reason why we would want to vote? What does an I.D. card look like? *Students will create a personal I.D. card with their picture, address, lunch number, and signature on it. Explain: Discuss that their parents and grandparents will probably go out and vote for our new bond election. They will need their personal identification: Photo Identification Card, Drivers License, Passport or a state I.D. card in order to vote. Vocab: vote, identification, good citizen, ballot, election (Daily Grade: (daily grade in LA & SS) combined grade of election sentence writing and ABC order of wor Shared reading: Read a book/newspaper articles/or weekly readers about voting. *S.S. book- read about voting in the All Together (blue classroom books) pg. 218-221 Engage: Students will vote on 2 student representatives from their class. They will need to fill out a ballot to vote for 2 students. The winners will be announced. (Test Grade: Election Quiz) Engage: Students will view videos online/discuss books on bats. Elaborate: Students will construct bats and information for hallway display. OBJ: Students will learn about bats: their life cycle, habitat, food supply, pros/cons, and other information about bats.
