Purpose:
-to create an interest in and an awareness of a relevant topic
from Canadian History (1920s)
-share and inform classmates via a creative and engaging
medium
Task:
-your task is to create at least one cartoon about your chosen
topic from the 1920s that can easily be understood by a student
in Grade 4 or 5
-be creative, choose your images and words carefully and think like a historian
Instructions: -you are to create a comic strip of your topic using http://www.bitstripsforschools.com
-press the log-in button and enter class code CHC2LI, then select your name from the list, and
create a password (the first time you log in)
-practice using Bitstrips by making your own avatar that will be added to the class photo (you
can see this when you log-in)
-click on comic and select make a comic. Be sure to add a title to your comic and use all the
powerful features available on this site (including the ability to import pictures)
-remember, although this is a creative and fun site your job is to cover your topic in an accurate
and in-depth manner. Therefore, be creative but also do your research (you will need to have at
least two sources of information for your cartoon)
-you may choose to work with a partner for this assignment, but you will each need to be able to
explain your contribution to the overall finished product.
