Monday, November 9th
Fine Arts Night tonight at 7:30 p.m. Come on out and enjoy
and support these fine young people in all of their hard work.
Ice Cream with toppings will be served between the One Act
Play and Band Performances on Monday night, November
9th. Volunteers are needed to bring ice cream toppings,
sprinkles, nuts, etc. for this. Please contact Becky
Jorgenson or Donna Swartzendruber if you can bring a
topping.
The football team will play Guardian Angels tomorrow
Tuesday night, November 10th in the quarterfinals at Beemer
at 6:00 p.m.
School will dismiss on Tuesday at regular time: 3:30 for
the elementary school, and 3:35 for the junior high and high
school. If parents wish to sign their children out for the
football game, they may do so. Please send a note with
your child indicating this. Thank you.
If you have a photo you would like to have on the
Veterans Day Video, please bring it to school to be
scanned by Friday.
The picture retakes will be next Monday, November 16th.
There will not be an Elementary Christmas Program this
year, the program will be given in the Spring, (Tuesday,
March 8th)
The High School Christmas Concert will be Monday,
December 14th at 7:30 p.m.
The Nebraska Music Educators Association will hold their
annual convention in November. The convention also
coincides with the All-State Band, Choir, Jazz Band, and
Orchestra. Shickley is proud to announce that Anthony
Beavers and Christian Lichti were selected to the Honor
Choir. The Honor Choir selected Benjamin Elznic as an
alternate. The final concert will be held at the Lied Center
for performing arts in Lincoln on November 21st. This is a
wonderful accomplishment by these fine musicians.
The Virgil Biegert Public Library is going to have story time
for any preschool child who would like to come. Suzanne
Nolt will be reading to the children from 10:00 10:30 every Friday morning.
Book Fair will be held at the Virgil Biegert Library
beginning today Monday, November 9th through
Saturday, November 14th. Monday, Friday and Saturday will
be regular hours. Wednesday will be 2:30 – 7:30 p.m. and
Tuesday and Thursday will be 3 – 6 p.m.
The book fair makes it possible for the library to receive
more books from the Children’s collection. The fair will have
books for all ages, including stocking stuffers, potters and
recipe books. This is a fun way to start your Christmas
shopping.

Please Note: Make the following correction to your
school calendars
There will not be school for Preschoolers thro 6th Grade on
Tuesday, December 1st. Shickley will be hosting the District
One Act Competition that day. 7-12 graders will report to
school that day.
The Day Care will be open.
Flu shot boosters and for those who may have missed them
the first time, will be given Tuesday, November 10th. More
information will follow when it becomes available.
Something to ponder… Morning is God’s way of saying
