Closurelogic GmbH: Water expertise and expansion plans at
Anuga FoodTec 2015
Worms, 05 March 2015 – It was just a year ago that closurelogic GmbH, a
manufacturer of rolled aluminum closures, set up on its own – and the company
is already showing itself eager to expand. To meet growing local demand for
aluminum closures, closurelogic has recently opened subsidiaries in Spain and
Turkey. The company’s water expertise is especially in demand in those regions.
closurelogic will be exhibiting their products and solutions at Anuga FoodTec
from 24 to 27 March 2015, Hall 1.7, Stand E031.
“Our aim is not just to produce and deliver high-quality aluminum closures”,
commented Javier Muñoz, CEO of closurelogic. “For us, it is also important to advise
customers – from choosing the right packaging material right through to actual closure
parameters.” To enable this level of personal service in southern Europe and Eurasia,
closurelogic has recently opened offices in Barcelona and Ankara.
Thanks to this local representation, the numerous wine bottlers and bottled water
companies on the Iberian Peninsula will be able to enjoy an even better level of service
in the future, regardless of their size.
With many water producers of different sizes competing in Turkey, the market is
fragmented. By opening an office in Ankara, closurelogic aims not only to better serve
the Turkish market but also to provide a central point of contact for companies in other
countries of the Eurasian region. Sales outside Germany currently account for more
than 50 percent of closurelogic’s annual revenues. Of this total, an important share is
already attributable to Turkey, along with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia. In addition
to sales, the new office offers customers on-site consultancy and support services.

Water: a highly demanding market
closurelogic’s broad product portfolio provides great choice for beverage manufacturers
when it comes to equipping their packaging. Offered in diameters of 28, 30 or 38
millimeters, the closures are suitable for glass, PET and aluminum bottles, whether in
the disposable or reusable sector.
“In terms of closure technology, water is the most sophisticated drink”, explained
Ursula Arnds, Sales Manager International Beverage Closures. “Even the slightest offtaste can compromise enjoyment.” Special emphasis is therefore placed on the PCVfree linings that come into direct contact with the drink.
closurelogic’s technical experts accompany new projects from the very beginning and
run sensory tests and analyzes in the company’s in-house lab using the latest
measurement technology. In the case of carbonated waters, the high internal pressure
of the bottles is also an issue. Bottle caps need to be capable of withstanding
pressures as high as 10 bar. For this reason, bottles from new customers or new
projects are always tested to ensure an optimal match between bottle and cap.
Aluminum closures create prestige bottles
“In upscale eateries, it is becoming increasingly prevalent to serve water out of classy
and distinctive containers”, Arnds explained. “The look and feel of aluminum closures
provides the best match for high-quality designer bottles.” In the latest development
project, involving a leading Italian PET company, the elegant aluminum closures are
even being used to add a touch of class to premium plastic bottles.
In the future, closurelogic intends to continue to invest in the development of new
technologies with the aim of increasing the range of products they offer, while
continuing to expand into new geographical regions. With the opening of the offices in
Spain and Turkey, the company has taken the next step on the road to increased
international customer proximity.
