*Update on the project collide at CERN and progress with partnerships
(Ariane Koek)
The first of CERN’s artists in residency prizes will be announced during the Ars
Electronica Festival (Sept 2) in Linz. The winning artist spends 2 month being
inspired at CERN, working with mentors. Ariane requests suggestions of potential
mentors. The prize is funded for 3 years. The Ars electronica festival will focus on
Origins (including from a CERN angle) this year.
In October 2012 CERN will announce a new Dance and Performance prize,
thanks to funding from the Ville de Geneve and an anonymous donor.

- Open Hardware License – sent later this day
- EPS HEP 2011
- ASACUSA we are waiting for the date of publication from Nature
- Cloud we are waiting for the date of publication from Nature
- Citizen Cyber science Centre (Francois Grey). Launch of a new version of LHC
at home, expected end July/ beginning August
*Communication around EPS HEP2011 (Emma Sanders)
- The EPS organises a press conference on the 25th July.
- CERN finalises tactics on the 18th July in a meeting between the DG, Corinne

announcement is to be included, that will be decided in the meeting with the
spokes on the 18th.
*Progress on 3D graphic library (Rolf Landua)
- This is a library of graphic objects open for use by all and not imposed.
- Rolf aims to cover the main ingredients of many of our animations to ensure
continuity of design (protons, quarks, rf cavities, magnets … and much more!)
- Rolf will present examples at the September LOG
*Science Museum exhibition 2013 (Emma Sanders)
- The vision document written by Graham Farmelo was presented to the museum
director last week for approval. The executive summary is on indico. We expect
to know in the next couple of weeks if the project goes ahead.
- Thank you to the experiments and machine for all the propositions of objects
that will make up the backbone of this major exhibition.
*Proposal for Publicising CERN talks at science festivals and allowing the
IPPOG database to profit from the content (Emma Sanders/Lisa Mc Carthy)
- Emma to follow up the possibility of a science festival column in the Bulletin
when there is CERN or experiment involvement in major festivals (such as Ars
Electronica)
- The experiments to work on the flow of such information from within the
collaborations
- Subject to be re-tabled in October.
*Round the table (All)
- LHC: objectives are already achieved for the year. A mini Chamonix will be held
