Establishment of a museum for Folkestone that will preserve the town’s heritage and will protect and promote the collections for generations to come. This project will chart disabled peoples lives from the middle ages until the late 20th Century in relation to built heritage. It will explore early provision for disabled people through to the first purpose built architecture. Fifth Continent will work with landowners, agencies and communities to conserve and restore the historic landscape of Romney Marshes for present and future generations, as well as achieving environmental, economic and social gains The project has been inspired and developed by children and young people working and living in a rural area situated above the Cliffs of Dover. This educational outreach project is aimed at the younger generation to engage them on WW1 to also collect additional material for further research on families located in and around Folkestone This project marking 100 years since the outbreak of WW1, brings together 500 children and 100 retired individuals from Folkestone. Through music they will learn about the war and the role their town played in it. Repairs to failing masonry to crenallated parapets; replacement of lead roofs.
