Data Definitions Program Performance Table WSCH = Weekly Student Contact Hours FTE = Full-Time Equivalent Faculty FTES = Full-Time Equivalent Student. 1 Full-time Equivalent Student (FTES) is equal to 1 student enrolled in 15 semester hours (it has nothing to do with units). FTES is derived by adding the credit and non-credit instructional units generated during the academic year divided by 30 (two semesters at 15 units per semester). Load = WSCH / FTE. Load represents the ratio between the faculty’s hours of instruction per week (“faculty load”) and the weekly hours of enrolled students in his/her sections. It is the total weekly student contact hours (WSCH) divided by the faculty member’s load. Load Examples: A faculty member teaching 5 sections of Sociology, each section meeting for three hours per week with an average per section enrollment of 30 students, equals 450 WSCH/FTEF. (5 class sections X 3 hours/week X 30 students =s 450 WSCH/FTEF)A faculty member teaching 3 sections of Biology, each section meeting for 6 hours per week with an average section enrollment of 25 students, would be teaching 450 WSCH/FTEF. (3 class sections X 6 hours/week X 25 student =s 450 WSCH/FTEF) Student Performance Table Success Rate: Percent of students successful in courses (Grade of A, B, C or CR) out of total enrolled in courses. Retention Rate: Percent of students retained in courses (Grade of A, B, C, D, F, CR, NC, I ) out of total enrolled in courses. Student Service Usage EOPS Eligible – students that have been declared by the EOPS office as EOPS eligible Receiving Financial Aid – Students that have formally accepted the financial aid that was offered.
