Scholarship Application (Please Print or Type) The Florida State University (FSU) National Black Alumni, Inc. is an officially chartered affiliate of the FSU Alumni Association. The Association’s mission is to build a network of Black alumni and friends and sustain meaningful relationships on behalf of FSU. and graduate from FSU), one will be awarded in honor of Dr. William R. The FSU National Black Alumni promotes and supports the academic achievement and excellence of Black students at FSU. Consequently, the FSU Black Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in the FSU Foundation to provide financial assistance to minority students of African descent. Interested students should complete the Scholarship Application, and briefly discuss their academic experiences and community involvement outside the formal classroom. As part of its 2015 National Black Alumni Reunion, the FSU National Black Alumni will award $500 scholarships to three deserving students. Additionally, applicants must describe how they took a stand and were courageous in the face of injustice or a challenging situation, and how they used this as an opportunity to build social solidarity, encourage understanding, or broaden their academic experiences.
