Wednesday, May 1st – a “B” day
If you have not turned in your Senior Update Sheet please do so and give to Mrs. Quinlan no later
than this Friday, May 3rd. If you have misplaced yours, stop in the counseling office for another copy.
If we do not receive your sheet you will not be considered for scholarships. The scholarship
committee is meeting soon so time is of the essence.
Mr. Drumluk, Director of Admissions at TC-3 will be here on Tuesday, May 7th at 9:00 am to speak
with students who have or are planning to apply to TC-3 this fall. If you are interested in meeting with
Mr. Drumluk, see Mrs. Quinlan in the Counseling Office for a pre-signed pass.
Yearbooks go on sale next week for $60. These are the extra yearbooks we did not sell so we will
likely run out before the yearbook carnival on June 6th. Pick up your order form in the main office

There will be a Mandatory Football Meeting Friday after school for all athletes interested in playing
Modified or Varsity Football this fall. The meeting will be in the Middle School Cafeteria starting at
2:30. If you cannot attend - be sure to see Coach Fink.

signed if you want to attend. Tickets are on sale during lunch periods for four dollars or at the door for
five dollars. Come have a good time and celebrate Cinco de Mayo! The first 100 kids through the
door will receive a special Chili pepper necklace.
The modified baseball team defeated Lansing last night by a score of 5 to 2. Jayson Wojcinski
pitched 6 scoreless frames, striking out 12. Devin Tyler doubled and scored on a Jake Cowen single.
Jasyon Wojcinski singled and walked twice, scoring 3 runs, with one on a John Wimer RBI single.
Devin Tyler struck out the side in the 7th to cap off the game. Great win, men!

Seniors - please do not forget to come to the fundraising meeting tonight at 5:15 in C13. We will be
distributing tickets for our final fundraiser. If for some reason you and/or your parents cannot attend,
please send a representative on your behalf.

The modified baseball team beat Whitney Point by a score of 19 to 11 last night. Mark Dodici pitched
4 strong innings, only surrendering 1 earned run, while striking out 4. Devin Tyler threw 2 scoreless
frames, striking out 5. With the sticks, Dan Bentkowski had a 2 run single; Jeff Kucerak had 3 hits,
while Mark Dodici was on base 4 times. Great win guys!
Monday, May 6th – an “A” day
Starting today, yearbooks go on sale for the last time for $60. Order forms are available on the main
office window or at lunch. There will be a yearbook rep outside of the cafeteria during lunch periods
all week to collect your orders.

Dryden Senior Ryan Whitaker shot 74 and finished in third place at the prestigious Douglas Memorial
Tournament at Corning Country Club Sunday.
The select field boasted 72 of the state’s top high school golfers, including former and current state
champions and most of the top players in section IV.
Dryden junior Jonathan Becker was also invited and shot a respectable 86.
Whitaker, Becker and the rest of the Dryden Purple Lions Varsity Golf team have a busy week ahead
of them as they try to remain undefeated for the 2013 season. Currently 11-0 and alone in first place,
Dryden will play 5 matches over the next 7 days. None is bigger than Friday’s match against
defending IAC North champions, the Trumansburg Blue Raiders. Dryden was able to beat
Trumansburg last week at Dryden Lake Golf Course, but since then T-burg has played extremely well
and will be very tough to beat on their home course.
The girls track team had an awesome meet Saturday at the Vestal Invite, breaking 2 school records
and placing 2nd. Abbey Yatsko was named girls track MVP. Rachel Hutchinson’s record in the 800
breaks her own that she set last year while the 400m relay girls broke a record that stood since 1980.

During activity period in the library on Thursday and Friday, the Advanced Video Production classes

Wednesday afternoon at Dryden Lake Golf Course, the Dryden Purple Lions Varsity Golf team
improved to 13-0 with a win over Southern Cayuga. Dryden Senior Ryan Whitaker and Junior
Jonathan Becker each shot 38 on a windy, rainy afternoon in difficult scoring conditions. Both players
overcame double-bogeys early in the round with birdies towards the end. Whitaker birdied the eighth
and ninth holes for the second straight match while Becker birdied eight and narrowly missed a birdie
at nine that would have given him the outright medalist honors. Mike Killian shot a solid score of 40
for the Chiefs. Dryden hosts the Union Springs Purple Wolves Thursday afternoon at Dryden Lake
Golf Course.
Friday, May 10th – an “A” day
Ticket sales for prom are officially over today. They are on sale until the end of the day in Mr.
Gardner’s room.
FBLA meeting will be NEXT Thursday - all new and old members plan to attend.

Fall sports physicals will be held on June 11th for Middle School and High School athletes from 10:00
am. to 2:00 p.m. in the Middle School Nurses office. If you are planning on going out for sports next
fall, you should check in with your nurse to see if you need a physical before fall practice starts. This
will be the only opportunity you will have to get a sports physical through the school to be able be
cleared to play in the fall.
The Varsity Softball Team celebrated senior night with a 17-9 victory over Moravia last night. Seniors
Kacie Conrad, Lexi Cooper, Marissa Durkee, Sam Nash and Taylor Freedline played an excellent
game to lead their team to the win. Congratulations ladies!
Thursday afternoon at Dryden Lake Golf Course, the Dryden Purple Lions Varsity Golf team improved
to 14-0 with a win over Union Springs 205 to 213. Ryan Whitaker and Jonathan Becker will join the
rest of the elite section IV golfers at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell next Thursday
and Saturday. The top 9 players in that event will qualify for the NYSPHAA Golf Championship on
June 2-3.
JV Baseball had 21-0 victory over Moravia.~ Overall record now stands at 9-5.~
Dryden’s Varsity baseball improved to 10-3 in IAC play and 10-6 overall with a 17-8 win over visiting
Moravia. For Dryden, John Whitmore picked up the win as he went 6 innings. Dryden is at Whitney
Point today.

The modified girls’ softball team is now 5-0 with an 18-12 win last night in Spencer. The team was led
by Brittany Deeley’s pitching the last 4 innings, a great job behind the plate by Amy Gardner and
Brianna Stafford second long home run of the season.
The modified baseball team defeated Spencer-Van Etten yesterday by a score of 16 to 5. Kyle
Burvee went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles; Mark Dodici was on base 5 times, including 2 doubles and 3
walks while Jayson Wojcinski put in a 3 hit night of his own. The defense was solid, led by C.J.
Smiley making a running catch to save 2 runs with the game very tight early on. Nice win, men.
Congratulations to the JV Baseball team on their 20-2 win over McGraw for their final game of the
season. ~ The team finished with an overall record of~11-5. ~ Nice season gentlemen.

Lead by Marissa Tordels 3 run triple in the 6th inning. Amy Gardner, great defense behind the plate
and 5 STRONG innings pitched by Brittany Deeley.
The modified baseball team shut out Moravia by a score of 9 to 0. On the hill, Jayson Wojcinski, Kyle
Burvee, Mark Dodici and Devin Tyler combined for 14 strikeouts over 7 innings. At the dish, Marcus
Gonzalez doubled and scored, Brad Wacht had an RBI single and Jacob Cowen drove in 2 runs on 2
hits. Great game, men!

HS chorus students going on the Dorney Park trip this Saturday - please stop down and get a health
form from Mrs. Duncan if you didn't get one.
They need to be turned in Saturday morning.
Starting Monday June 3rd there will be no more charging meals allowed for breakfast and lunch.
There will be a Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving Informational Meeting Monday, June 3rd in the
small gym @ 2:30.
All ladies interested in being on the Swimming and Diving Team in the fall should attend.
Sustainability Club will meet Thursday, June 6 in Mrs. Taylor's room for the final meeting of the year.
We will elect new officers and make plans for next year.

State Meet next week at Middletown NY. Bryant Stuttle, Will Holt, Rachel Hutchinson, Megan
Cornelius, Abbey Yatsko, Mackenzie Todd, Rachel Wojcik, and Amy DeGaetano all qualified for the
meet at yesterday's State Qualifier Meet.
Monday, June 3rd – an “A” day

We will elect new officers and make plans for next year.
All athletes interested in playing either Varsity or JV volleyball should attend the informational meeting
held on June 6 at 2:30 in room C-203. If you cannot make it, it is your responsibility to email one of
the coaches on the flyers you see hanging around school to get important information.

The Modified baseball team notched an impressive 9 to 4 victory against Union Springs, who beat
Dryden earlier in the year. Jon Wimer led the hitting attack, going 3 for 3 with a run scored and Kyle
Burvee slugged a 2 run double to put the game out of reach. On the hill, Mark Dodici surrendered
only 1 earned run through 4 solid innings, striking out 5. Great game, men!
