1. MEETING STARTED AT: 4:00PM.
Welcome everyone to another meeting for
People First North Grenville. The date of this
meeting is: Wednesday January 25th, 2012.
2. ROUTINE BUSINESS:
i) Everyone was satisfied with the minutes from
the November 30th, 2011 meeting. Doug S.
motioned the minutes and Denny second them.

ii) Treasurer Report: Bianca and Bruce did a
report for our account. Our account is still at
$366.19.
CARRIED
iii) No Expenses/Payments or Requests at this
time.

3. OLD BUSINESS:
a. People First Election Update:
I just wanted to thank everyone who
participated in our Election this year. We had a lot of
candidates for our positions. I also want to thank our
advocates for helping out as well. So I just want to
congratulate our new position members and wish them
good luck during their 2-year contract. Thank you for
your cooperation.
b. People First Bowling Schedule:
The 2011-2012 bowling schedule is now
posted on the People First Website. The next bowling
dates are on Saturday March 10th, 2012 & Saturday
March 24th, 2012 at 1:30pm sharp. Remember our
bowling happens every second Saturday. Hope to see
you all on the lanes. Any questions feel free to contact
Community Living or check the People First website.

c. People First Winter (January) Dance:
Everyone had an awesome time at the People
First Winter Dance from Friday January 20th, 2012. It
was a semi full house as people were under the
weather and people were busy. But the people who did
go said they had a great time. Jamie and Anne were on
hand to bring us some great music. There were lots of
prizes and it was a good night. Hope to see you at the
next dance in February for the Valentine’s Day Dance.

4. NEW BUSINESS
a. People First Website Update:
I (Jason) gave another update on the site. The
People First Web Site is up and running full time now and
doing very well. I am getting lots of visitors and feedback
which is great. You can also find it on the Community
Living website under “LINKS”. I have added more
updates, documents and many other new notes. There will
be more stuff added so check back frequently for updates.
The site is: http://peoplefirstng.wordpress.com. Enjoy the
site everyone. I will have updates about the site throughout
the year. I might make a new and improved site during the
summer. I will let everyone know if I go through with it.
Thank you everyone and keep all the comments and
feedback coming. Thank you for your cooperation and time.
b. People First Presidents Update:
There was no Presidents Update at this time. But
Penny just said thank you to everyone who elected her as
President and she said that she will do her best in her new
position. Also Jason and Penny went over the People First
Duties for each position again to refresh everyone’s minds.
That was all for the Presidents Update for January. Penny
hopes to have a report at our February or near future
meetings. So good luck to everyone in the upcoming year.

c. Community Living Board of Directors Update:
I (Jason) had a small report from the Board of
Directors Committee. We discussed some stuff about the
Annual General Meeting which is in mid-June. We also
discussed some stuff about Accessibility and about People
First reports. Everyone liked my reports for our committee. I
hope to have another report at our next meeting. Thank
you for your cooperation and time.
d. North Grenville Accessibility Committee:
Bruce and I didn’t have a report or update at this
time as we had no meeting. This committee meet every two
or three months. When we have our next meeting as the
Accessibility Committee, then I will let our committee know
and I will have a report. Thank you for your support.

e. People First Activity Selection: We as a committee had some ideas for upcoming activity selection at this time. Some
of the activities we thought of were as follows: Hockey Night at the Resource Centre where we eat some snacks and
watch a hockey game. Have Karaoke Night at the Resource Centre where we sing the night away. Have a Movie Night
at the Resource Centre where we grab some snacks and drinks and watch a movie. We have another BBQ and finally
have Show & Tell Night at the Resource Centre where you bring a valuable possession and tell us about it. Great ideas
everyone and we hope to one of these activities in the near future. We are going to take a vote at the next meeting for our
first activity of 2012. We will discuss the options again and vote. Please check the People First website for any upcoming
news on activities and events. Thank you for your support and cooperation at this time.
f i. Upcoming People First Events:
1.
There will be a People First Valentine’s Day Dance in Winchester on Friday February 17th, 2012 and it will be
held at the Winchester Lions Hall from 7:00-11:00PM. The cost is $7.00 the Dance. There will be prizes and
contests for spot dance and best couples (King & Queen). The DJ’s Anne and Jamie will be on deck to bring us
great music from all genres including love songs. So come on out and have a rocking great night. Please check
the People First Site for more details or call Anne Lyon or Resource Centre. Thank you for your support and
hope to see you at the dance.

There will be a People First St. Patrick’s Day Dance in Winchester in March 2012 and it will be held at the
Winchester Lions Hall from 7:00-11:00PM. The real date will be confirmed and everyone will be notified. The cost
is $7.00 the Dance. There will be prizes and contests for spot dance and the best Irish dressed for wearing
green. The DJ’s Anne and Jamie will be on deck to bring us great music from all genres including Irish songs. So
come on out and have a rocking great night. Please check the People First Site for more details or call Anne
Lyon or Resource Centre. Thank you for your support and hope to see you at the dance.

g. People First Opinion Segment, New Events and Fund-Raising Ideas:
There were a no ideas or opinions for our committee fund-raisers and activities at this time. Check the People
First Web Site and Newsletters for up to date news. But the ideas we talked about at previous meeting are still here to
look at and discuss at future meetings. Enjoy and feel free to add any ideas or comments. Thank you for your cooperation
and time.
→Idea #1: Our committee thought of doing a bowling tournament for our committee. It would be at the Kemptville Bowling
Lanes and we would have it probably in the spring or fall. For a small fee, you would bowl two games and the winner
would get a prize like a gift card or something like that. We are going to do more planning at future meetings. Thank you
