HOPE for Kids Leadership Academy 2014
Application for participation
Thank you for applying to HOPE for Kids Leadership Academy (HFKLA). This summer, the HFKLA will take place in
Schwenksville, PA, at Camp HOPE for Kids. Participants will have the opportunity to evangelize on local campuses, be
educated at the Ministry Training Academy, mentor kids from the inner city of Philadelphia and be a counselor for at least one
week of R Camp, Teen Camp or one of the NY Camps.
As a faith-based program, HFKLA is a spiritually focused program. There will be times of prayer, Biblical devotionals, and times
when the group visits with members of a local Church of Christ in order to encourage local Christians. HFKLA participants must
be members, in good standing, of the International Churches of Christ. HOPE for Kids leadership Academy will take place in
three tracks between the dates of Monday, June 9-Saturday, August 9, 2014. If you are accepted, you will be assigned to one
of the three tracks.
We encourage you to apply to this year’s HOPE for Kids Leadership Academy by completing the application provided below
and by submitting the $250 deposit. Space in this program is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicant Qualifications:

Individual Applicant*: Must be at least 16 years old by time of service and in good standing in the International
Churches of Christ.
Application and Program Fee Deadlines:

First Deadline to submit application: February 15, 2014
Second Deadline to submit application: April 15, 2014
Deadline to submit $250 deposit: April 15, 2014
Deadline to submit remaining $1100: June 1, 2014
The total cost of $1350 does NOT include airfare; this fee does include all meals, lodging, local transportation, activities,
etc. during your stay. The $250 deposit becomes non-refundable at the point of acceptance; should an application be
rejected, the deposit will be fully refunded. Raise $2000 and $500 will be given to your college as a scholarship.

2. Failure to submit all required funds by the dates above will likely result in the cancellation of the applicant’s
participation in HFKLA.
3. After acceptance, all volunteers will be required to sign and submit all applicable waivers to confirm participation.

PRICE: $1350 total – does NOT include airfare; the fee covers all meals, lodging, local transportation, t-shirts,
activities, and coordination services of HOPE for Kids
Travel note: Dates listed are from the day you should arrive at the program site until the day you leave to return to
your home city. (For example, you should arrive in Philadelphia on June 9th to begin the HFKLA. Then, you will depart
from Philadelphia on August 9th to return to your home city.) Further travel details will be provided after you have
received notice from HOPE for Kids on the selection of your track. Please do not book any flights until you have
received explicit instructions from HOPE for Kids.
Acceptance notice: If accepted, all applicants will be required to submit health forms and release waivers to confirm
participation. Acceptance notices will be sent via email to the address(es) provided in this application.
