Dear Students and Parents
Following the success of the last three academic years the Physical Education Department will continue to provide
opportunities for our students to learn new sports with professional coaches and instructors. The first activities we are
offering our students this year are judo, street dance, and golf tuition. These sessions will last for 8 (10 for judo)
consecutive weeks each and would give a tremendous opportunity to try something new or develop those skills acquired.
Judo will take place at the school with a small charge of £25 for the 10 sessions working out at £2.50 per session. All
equipment is provided and supplied by the coach.
Street Dance will also take place at the school with again a small charge of £20 for the 8 sessions working out at £2.50
per session. No equipment is required for this activity.
The golf tuition will continue to take place at Birchwood Park Golf Course with one of their club professionals and will cost
£40 for the 8 sessions working out to £5 per hour session. All equipment is provided, however, students can bring their
own clubs if they wish (please put clubs in the PE store once arrived at school). Transport to and from Birchwood Golf
Club will be provided by the school.
If you would like to sign up to any/all of the sessions then please tick the box of the session you wish your son to attend.
Please make cheques payable to Wilmington Grammar School for Boys. Please return this form along with payment
to the finance office ASAP as spaces are limited to 30 for Judo, 30 for Street Dance, and 12 for golf. Places will
be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note that these are very popular activities and they do tend
to get over-subscribed.

Starts Thursday 18 November - Ends Thursday 3 February
Street Dance lunchtime sessions on Friday’s (12.50pm – 13.35pm)
Starts Friday 1 October – Ends Friday 26 November
Golf Tuition session on Thursday’s (16.00 – 17.00, 17.15 return to school)
Starts Thursday 30 September – Ends Thursday 2 December (Excluding 21.10)
Squash Coaching Mr Sexton is also running a squash club at White Oak leisure centre at a cost of £4 a time with
professional coaching by Steve Franks. This activity will be on a weekly basis and will start on Wednesday 6 October
from 4 – 5pm. Payment should be made at the leisure centre each time your son attends (pay as you go). Transport to
and from the leisure centre will be provided by the school. Please note that there will be lunchtime taster sessions
provided at the school.
Please note that there will be no sessions during the half-term break in October.
