Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
We are really starting to get our environmentally friendly programme under way and need
your help (and your nannies/drivers) to support and help with this.
Reduce:
We are trying to reduce the amount of waste we produce at school, this includes paper water
and energy consumption too…..
You can help support this by:
 Sending your child’s healthy after school snacks in reusable containers
 if you send a packed lunch, use a lunch box and reusable containers
 Please don't leave you car idling outside while you come in to collect your child, the
air conditioning only takes an extra minute to cool down your car when you get back
 Get into the habit of using both sides of a piece of paper
Reuse:
We are also trying to find ways to reuse items we do not utilize at home or at school
anymore. Often these items can find a good home somewhere else. We are working with
parents and some agencies to support refugees, orphans and underprivileged families in and
around Thailand… read more on the Community Blog
The red bins in the Atrium (beside the EY2 classroom) are for reusable items. Please make
sure they are in relatively good condition, in workable order and are clean and ready to be
passed on to other users
You can help in a variety of ways...
 Use the red bins to donate reusable clothing
 Donate shoes and bags for reuse
 Donate house-ware such as pots and pans, towels, bedding etc. etc.
 Make sure all items are clean and reusable before placing in the bins
This is an ongoing project, the red bins, when full, will be emptied and sorted by the students
before being forwarded to the organizations for reuse.
Recycle:
You will notice yellow and blue bins in the classrooms and around the school. The yellow
bins are for paper and cardboard, the blue bins are for plastic bottles and wrappings. If you
are in school and have something you wish to throw away, please think first and see if it can
be recycled. The students are learning about this and we want this to become common
practice in the school community. We have placed large bins by the stairwell, in the atrium
and in each class, so let’s support the students and start becoming a little more conscious of
our environment. We also have a battery recycling programme set up by the Grade 5
You can help support this by;
 Bringing in used batteries we will make sure they are passed on and disposed of in a
safe and environmentally friendly way
 Think about recycling items before you throw them in the bin

Informing your family of these projects and encouraging everyone including nannies
and drivers to participate and take action
Many thanks for your continued support,
Warm regards,
June
