Some basic reminders to share for successful test taking…
1. Make sure to double check you have everything you need for the test the night before (school ID or
driver’s license, materials, paperwork, a sweater/ hoodie, etc).
2. Get a good night’s rest the night before.
3. Have a solid protein filled breakfast before heading out for the day or as soon as you get to school.
4. Make sure that you do not have any electronic devices on you. If you do, turn them off before going
into the testing area and place them out of site. Follow the proctor’s directions regarding electronics.
5. Follow the proctor’s directions. If you have a question regarding what’s been said, ask for clarification.
6. On the SBAC, CAASPP and CAHSEE make sure that you answer each question and writing prompts.
7. On the AP exams, make sure you eliminate answer choices you know are wrong first before selecting
the best/correct answer. Make sure you write to the prompt you are given.
8. Pace yourself and leave enough time to go over your work. You’ve been given the gift of time to take
this test, use all of it.
9. Be respectful of the other test takers around you and do not disturb them.
10. Above all, breathe deeply throughout the test and believe in yourself, we do 
