Types of Sentences Caricatures
Create a caricature designed to represent one of the four types of sentences.
 Choose a type of sentence. (only one)
o Declarative, Interrogative, imperative, exclamatory
 Choose a theme. Ex. baseball, school, crime scene
 Draw a caricature that illustrates the punctuation mark that accompanies your type of
sentence.
o Be sure the caricature illustrates the personality of the punctuation mark.
o Be sure the caricature relates to your theme.
 Write the type of sentence and definition at the bottom of the page.
 Write the name of the caricature at the top of the page.
o The name should relate to the sentence type represented, such as Declarative
Dan or Hysterical Helen.
 Include 6 example sentences with correct punctuation and a minimum of 3 illustrations.
o Be sure they relate to your theme.
o Vary sentence beginnings! (Do NOT begin all sentences the same way!!!)
o Use good word choice! (No boring, baby words!)
 Be colorful and neat! (No scratch outs or stray marks.)
 Spelling Counts!!! You will be graded on
effort and creativity.
 Include your first and last name in
the bottom right corner.
