This document contains some simple instructions, detailed below, for use of materials
on this disk. Any further queries/questions can be emailed to

You may reproduce, display, print, distribute and promote the materials on this disk for
the purpose of supporting or recognising emergency management volunteers and their
employers.

This document sets out the terms of use for materials contained on this disk and is
available both in Microsoft Word and PDF format. All users of materials on this disk
are required to read and adhere to the terms provided here.
Volunteer Employer Recognition Scheme Framework
This document provides background to the development of the scheme and provides
guidance on the implementation of a VERS program.
The text and format of this document may not be altered in any way. The end user
should be able to print this material, even on a small home printer. This material has
been designed for distribution by email and/or print version to national, state/territory,
regional and local emergency management agencies.
VERS Event management Checklist
An interactive document designed for agencies to contribute their own information
message and to distribute by e-mail to state, regional and local emergency management
agencies/organisations. This material is available in Microsoft Word and Interactive
PDF format and you should be able to print this material, even on a small home printer.
Recognising Employers of Emergency Management Volunteers brochure (DL size)
An informative PDF brochure designed for agencies to contribute their own emergency
management message. This brochure can then be distributed by e-mail to state, regional
and local emergency management agencies/organisations for use at events. Agencies
will need access to Adobe Acrobat Pro in order to customise this brochure. The end user
will then be able to print this material, even on a small home printer.
A Make a Difference poster (A3 single sided)
This material is available in Microsoft Word and Interactive PDF format.
As the end user, you are able to type text, place a smaller logo and an executive
signature into the dialogue box located at the bottom of the page. You will be able to
format the font type, size and placement. Please ensure your final thank you message
does not infringe on the photographs and Federal Attorney-General’s message box.
This material has been designed for distribution by email and/or print version to
national, state/territory, regional and local emergency management agencies.
The agency/organisation/end user will be able to print this material on a printer with A3
paper settings. While it is possible to rescale this material to A4 size, the font size may
not be legible to some readers.
The Department suggests the following parameters for the best quality print:





Print Single-sided
Portrait layout/orientation
A3 paper size
Full colour
130 gsm paper; matt/satin finish.
VERS Information and nomination template for Awards (A4)
An interactive document designed for agencies to contribute their own information

PDF format and you should be able to print this material, even on a small home printer.
A Thank You letter (A4)
An interactive letter designed for agencies to contribute their own information message
and to distribute by e-mail to state, regional and local emergency management
agencies/organisations, and used at events. This material is available in Microsoft Word
and Interactive PDF format and you should be able to print this material, even on a
small home printer.
A Certificate of Appreciation (A4 – landscape and portrait)
An interactive certificate designed for agencies to contribute their own information
message and to distribute by e-mail to state, regional and local emergency management
agencies/organisations, and used at events. This material is available in Microsoft Word
and Interactive PDF format and you should be able to print this material, even on a
small home printer.
A VERS Award flyer (A4)
This material is available in Microsoft Word and Interactive PDF format. As the end

Should your agency/organisation require further hard copies of the VERS package,
please email the National Security Capability Development Division of the AttorneyGeneral’s Department at nationalprojects@ag.gov.au noting required quantities and ONE
delivery address.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

These Terms and Conditions of Use apply to the Emergency Management Volunteer
Employer Recognition program materials (Material).
Ownership of intellectual property
2.
All Intellectual Property in the Material vests from the time of making in the
Commonwealth.
3.
You shall not query, challenge or call into question the Commonwealth’s ownership of
Intellectual Property in the Material.
Terms and conditions relating to the Material
Permitted uses
4.
You may:
a.
download and view the Material and alter the Material by inserting your contact
details in the [dialogue box] and
b.
reproduce, display, print, distribute and promote the altered Material
for the purpose of supporting or recognising emergency management volunteers and
their employers.
Uses not permitted
5.
You may not:
a.
use the Material for a purpose other than supporting or recognising emergency
management volunteers and their employers
b.
use the Material in a way that suggests that You are endorsed, sponsored, an
agent, or affiliated or otherwise connected to the Commonwealth (unless you are
in fact part of or an agency of the Commonwealth)
c.
transfer the benefit of these Terms and Conditions of Use to another person
d.
alter, amend or remove anything from the Material other than the [dialogue box] or
e.
remove or obscure the copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices from the
Materials.
Responsibility for employees and agents:

You shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that any person given access to the
Material on your behalf is aware of these Terms and Conditions of Use.
