Please pray that this will be a great weekend of learning more about God and each other. BBQ, Beer and Blessing: We are starting a Sunday afternoon/evening worship gathering as we understand that many families are torn between a rock and a hard place in regards to Sunday Sport and the Sunday morning worship service. Other people have to work on Sunday morning so this gathering will be an chance to join together with the church in worship and fellowship. Sunday March 29 (Palm Sunday) will be our first gathering - at the school from 4.30pm - 6.30pm. We will gather in the forum for an interactive, all age worship time and then have a BBQ dinner together on 'the green'. We would like to do this type of worship gathering about twice a term at this stage and we would welcome your suggestions as to what will work best for you as a family. Please feel free to invite your friends as well. The meal will be a simple BBQ - BYO meat and drinks + a salad OR dessert to share. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with each other, with worship and with God. Mix It Up A new group for year 7 students will be starting after Easter. If you are or have a year 7 student who would like to be involved please see Evol or Louise. Staff Hampers: We are going to be putting together a welcome hamper for the 14 new staff in the high school. This is to welcome them to the school and church community, we want to bless them and assure them of our prayers for them as they share the love of God through their teaching or work at the school. If you would like to donate some goodies (i.e. biscuits, chocolates, fruit, slice, muffins) please let Glen know. We will be making them up on Friday 13 March. The Ten Commandments - Exodus 20 Can you name all ten - in order?? It is a good thing to try to remember and to teach then to our children. See if you can have a family challenge for the next two weeks. - See who can remember them all - and in order (as it is easier to remember them that way) Here is a link to a you tube clip that might help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU0C1E4WzPs - I would fast forward to the 0.50 min part of the video as the beginning part goes on a bit about sin which is not as helpful as the rest of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTpKYlFVtyQ - this is a full animated movie of the exodus that you and/or your children might like to look at. - the ten commandment section starts at 1.05 mins if you just want to watch that part.
