1) Name of Donation Option: Sponsor the Orchard Development for extremely disadvantaged
tribal families
Donation amount for one unit (One Acre):
Description: The core component of the program is orchard development, which will consist of a
horticultural plantation established typically on one acre of low-productive land belonging to a tribal family.
Based on agronomic and agro-climatic conditions it is proposed to create an orchard (WADI) whose
composition is given hereunder.

The orchard developed within one acre will consist of 110 plants of Guava, Aonla or Mango.
Reasons for Selection of crops / varieties:
Guava, Mango and Aonla has been selected for plantation as the crops are suitable as per the soil
characteristics and agro-climatic conditions of the area. Moreover there are ready markets for these fruits
in neighboring places like Jhansi, Lalitpur and Gwalior .The varieties selected for Guava are L-49 and for
Aonla NA-7, NA-10, have been selected. These varieties are already been grown successfully by the
farmers and have also been recommended by the horticulture dept. Also the planting materials are easily
available locally. For Guava saplings we will consult with Allahabad Nursery and for aonla we will consult
with AcharyaNarendraSansthan, Pratapgarh.
Wadiestablishment:
For each target family, (1 acre) of land will be developed to create an orchard (Wadi). Guava, Mango and
Aonla which are suitable as per agro-climatic conditions to the area, in one acre will be planted.

Bio-fertilizer & bio-pesticides for ignoring any chemical impurity in the product will be used in Wadi.
a. Among Azotobacter, Phosphobacter, Zinc Solubizing Bacteria, Iron Solubizing Bacteria,
Sulphur Bacteria as recommended by horticulture expert, will be used as bio-fertilizers.
b. Application of neem cake to keep nematodes at bay.
c. Application of pseudomonas as bio-pesticide.
d. Application of panchagavya sprays to induce immunity in WADI.
e. Application of Trichoderma powder to control soil borne disease.

2) Name of Donation Option: Sponsor the fencing trees along the developed orchard for the
extremely disadvantaged tribal families.
Donation amount for one unitDescription: In the project villages for the protection of plants in the orchard, there should be an essential
fencing component for which here we have planned to include in the project. Forestry plantation will be
done on the boundary of the wadi covering 110 plants of Bamboo and Karonda are recommended. For
efficient use of space and protection of Wadi from stray cattle, fencing plants will be planted.

Fencing of forestry crops like Bamboo and Karonda has been recommended for each wadi. There may be
two rows planting of trees with inter row spacing of 1 meter as under:
Outer row – Bamboo (Spacing 3 m X 3 m)
Inner row- Karonda (Spacing 2 m X 2 m)
For these plants also the same bio-fertilizers& bio-pesticides will be used for ignoring any chemical impurity
in the product will be used in Wadi.
