Learning Intention: to explore creative and cultural implications of new media forms for the production and consumption of media products
Guiding Question: how do new media impact on society?
Choose a new media form/technology, such as:

What relationships does this new media form have with existing media technologies?
 From what pre-existing technologies/forms did this one grow?
 Has the process of convergence taken place, or is it in the process now?
What are the creative implications of this form of new media?
 How does the form/technology enable users to be more creative, or to create/produce content they couldn’t before?
 Does it limit creativity in any way?
What are the social implications of this form of new media?
 What is its impact on culture, or ‘the way we do things’? How does it change the way people interact with one another in society?
 What are the potential or observed pitfalls and prospects?
How does it affect the production, consumption and distribution of media products?
 How does it change our relationship with, and roles within the media, those of producer and consumer?

What problems does it pose for copyright protection and for media producers to be paid for their work?
