Convergence Strategies for Steady Problems : 1. Start with a coarse mesh… Get the solution with first order upwind and then start on a good mesh for the problem 2. Compute Re or Gr etc. to get an idea about the nonlinearity of the problem at hand. 3. If the Re or Gr is too high, lower the values and get a solution. [ You can decrease the flow velocity or increase the viscosity etc. to alter Re ] 4. Slowly increase the values until you get a good solution 5. If you still have problems, look at convergence values such as relaxation factors, pressure-velocity coupling etc. 6. In flows with heat transfer, solve just the flow or the conduction heat transfer problems as a start. You can disable the equations or set the variables to a particular value
