In a colour composition focus on a historical period and it’s quintessential ‘antique’ costume (ancient Greece, Rome, Celt…) You’ve been given a handout from Ms. Perry that relates to Andreas Vesalius (1514 –1564), a Flemish anatomist, and his animated skeletons. Use some drawing and some collage (some of your image bank) to create a humorous skeletal composition. Nocturne at Night is a non-profit organization bringing art and energy to the streets of Halifax from 6pm to 12 am on Oct. 17, 2015. http://nocturnehalifax.ca/ - You can go with a group and journal about it in your sketchbook or follow on Facebook and write about your favorite posts. Include pics if you can… Create a fantastic or surreal composition solely from your imagination that has particularly interesting negative space. Draw something or someone in exaggerated lighting so that there are large contrasts between highlights and cast shadows. Create a caricature or cartoon whose mission is to teach young artists about colour theory. Devise the costume, the slogan, some buzz words, etc. We will be travelling to The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia the end of October for a class trip. Document one of your favorite pieces/exhibits and tell why. Sketch the work there, include artist info and even include a picture if you can… Free draw! Spend one and a half hours minimum. Please remember to title and date your drawings. Include all ‘roughs’, thumbnails, written inspirations, etc.
