THE PRINCESS & THE FROG
A fairytale ballet for children and their families
After a sell out tour in London and the South East, Let’s All Dance is delighted to
be bringing their beautiful ballet production, The Princess & The Frog to the
Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. With fantastic dancers, gorgeous
costumes and crystal clear story-telling, this show has been specifically designed
for 3-9 year olds and their families, and is also perfect for children with special
needs.
The production runs 6th-30th August at Sweet Grassmarket and, with daily shows
at 4.30pm, young audiences will be enchanted by this lovely tea time treat.
Artistic Director, Orit Sutton, says:
“We believe passionately that every child should have access to this beautiful art
form. Classical ballet is the foundation of all dance and it is truly inspiring to
watch professional ballet dancers in a close, intimate setting. Children feel very
involved in the action and we want everyone, regardless of background, to have
this opportunity”.
After every performance, children have the opportunity to have a professional
photo taken with the dancers, which is then printed out for parents to take home
(extra cost).
THE STORY
Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess. She loved playing with her golden
ball but one day she drops it in the pond. When a very friendly and very bouncy frog
offers to retrieve it in exchange for her friendship, she is far from keen.
But in the end the princess must agree to be his friend just to get her ball back.
Slowly their friendship grows and the princess is rewarded in true fairytale style.
A lovely production and a heart-warming tale with the theme of friendship at its
core.

Orit Sutton – Artistic Director
Orit has spent more than 20 years of her professional career acting, singing,
choreographing, directing, designing, producing, collaborating, teaching and
working backstage in theatre. Whilst performing, she appeared in all genres of
theatre including musicals, opera, straight drama, comedy and dance. In 2010,
Orit created Let’s All Dance to provide high quality, inspiring and fun dance
classes and parties across the UK. In 2013 she launched Let’s All Dance’s sister
production company to create professional ballet at a fraction of the standard
price, while taking the show to children who would otherwise never experience
live theatre or dance.
Maria Grozova – Dancer & Ballet Mistress
Born in Riga, Latvia, Maria trained at Riga Choreography School before joining
Central School of Ballet in London. While in school, she danced with Northern
Ballet in their production of A Christmas Carol. Upon graduation in
2011, Maria toured with the school's graduate company Ballet Central and joined
Vienna Festival Ballet for their season of The Nutcracker. Maria has worked on a
wide variety of projects including dance and fashion photo shoots, the closing
ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, Scwarzkopf catwalk shows and
Neoballet's Life! Maria created the original role of The Princess and is very
excited to be dancing it again in Edinburgh. She also takes the responsibility of
Ballet Mistress for the company, overseeing some rehearsals and maintaining the
standard of dance throughout the run.
Stephen Dole – dancer
Stephen was born in Cardiff, where he started dancing at the age of 7. Training
all over the UK, including as a Senior Associate of the Royal Ballet, he graduated
from the prestigious London dance college, Laine Theatre Arts. In the grand
British tradition, he has appeared in pantomimes for several Christmas seasons,
understudying the Prince, Simple Simon and the Dame and working as Dance
Captain. Whilst performing with Crystal Cruises as a singer/dancer, he had the
opportunity to work with brilliant guest choreographers from companies such as
Lord of the Dance and iLuminate (as seen on America’s Got Talent). After
dancing the role of The Frog earlier this year, Stephen is delighted to be back
with Let’s All Dance and bouncing about for children in Edinburgh.
