For immediate release 1st June 2015 THE PRINCESS & THE FROG A fairytale ballet for children and their families After a sell out tour in London and the South East, Let’s All Dance is delighted to be bringing their beautiful ballet production, The Princess & The Frog to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. With fantastic dancers, gorgeous costumes and crystal clear story-telling, this show has been specifically designed for 3-9 year olds and their families, and is also perfect for children with special needs. The production runs 6th-30th August at Sweet Grassmarket and, with daily shows at 4.30pm, young audiences will be enchanted by this lovely tea time treat. Artistic Director, Orit Sutton, says: “We believe passionately that every child should have access to this beautiful art form. Classical ballet is the foundation of all dance and it is truly inspiring to watch professional ballet dancers in a close, intimate setting. Children feel very involved in the action and we want everyone, regardless of background, to have this opportunity”. After every performance, children have the opportunity to have a professional photo taken with the dancers, which is then printed out for parents to take home (extra cost). THE STORY Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess. She loved playing with her golden ball but one day she drops it in the pond. When a very friendly and very bouncy frog offers to retrieve it in exchange for her friendship, she is far from keen. But in the end the princess must agree to be his friend just to get her ball back. Slowly their friendship grows and the princess is rewarded in true fairytale style. A lovely production and a heart-warming tale with the theme of friendship at its core.
