EXHIBITION CONTRACT
Please complete, sign, and send this Exhibition Contract to the above address in care of
James E. Allen, Gallery Director.

(Artist or artists) and The Greer Museum.
Please attach a list of all artwork to be displayed. The list should include;
artist name, title, media, dimensions and an indication of either price or
insurance value. If the artist is not interested in selling their work they
should indicate their intention with NFS. If the artist is open to a
negotiated price they should indicate their intention by marking POR
(Price on request). In all cases an insurance value is required.
The artwork will be exhibited in the first floor gallery beginning
___________________(date) and ending ______________________(date). The
current gallery hours are from 1pm to 5pm, Tuesday through Friday with
the exception for holidays and special events. All artists are responsible
for and liable for transporting their work to and from the gallery unless
otherwise agreed upon. Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the
artist unless otherwise agreed. Greer Museum accepts liability for all
artwork displayed during the contracted exhibition period. All reasonable
care will be taken when hanging, lighting and labeling the artwork.
The Greer Museum, through the Office of University Advancement, will
create a press release that is distributed to newspapers in the contiguous
four counties served by the University of Rio Grande. The exhibiting artists
agree to allow images of their artwork to be used for publicity purposes in
print and internet sites. The Greer Museum is committed to promoting
their exhibits with postcards and/or posters. This commitment however is
subject to budgetary restrictions and will be negotiated on an individual
basis.
The Greer Museum usually hosts receptions for the artists but these vary
and are determined individually. They may be opening receptions,
closing receptions or some other arrangement that works with the artist’s
schedule.
Lectures and workshops are contracted separately.
The Insurance Agency for the University of Rio Grande and the Greer
Museum shall assume liability for artwork while in the custody of the
University of Rio Grande. The exhibitor or exhibitors are responsible for
artwork during transit. The artists shall establish the value of each work of
art. Artwork valued in excess of $1,000.00 must have a certified appraisal
on record.
This contract may be superseded when special exhibits are contracted,
such as travelling exhibits that have their own established contracts.
