Running head: PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE LAB PAPER Physical performance lab paper Name University Lecture Date 1 PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE LAB PAPER 2 Physical performance lab paper The physical performance is critical in the determination of the health status of individuals. Some parameters that are used in this evaluation are; maximum uptake of respiratory oxygen, vital capacity forced from the lungs and predicted or actual exhalation ratio of air. The parameters are used in the analysis of the status of individual’s risk of diseases such as coronary diseases, blood pressure, the strengths the muscles, pulmonary infections, and the whole body composition (HOEGER & Hoeger, 2012). Positive aspects Systolic blood pressure [mmHg]; Positive aspect of the analysis is recognized as the value obtained of 114 is within the references value of 114-118 that is the ideal or acceptable reference range. This value puts forward the knowledge that the systolic value stipulates a sense of well –being and sound health regarding diastolic Bp. Diastolic blood pressure; the value obtained through the physical examination exercise is 68. This indicates a situation of health satisfaction regarding diastolic blood pressure . This is evident and supported by the fact that the reference value that indicates the deviation from average is 65-69. Since our value lies within the acceptable range, this positive aspect is realized as diastolic pressure is within the range of normal, acceptable levels (Berbari, 2010). Grip strength maximum; this is a positive aspect in that the value obtained through the analysis is 29.4. The reference value for this 25.9-31.4 .this value is within the normal ranges of the maximum grip strength. This indicates a state of normalcy on this aspect of health PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE LAB PAPER 3 examination and analysis as described and evident by the outcome of the physical examination exercise (HOEGER & Hoeger, 2012). Forward flexion; this is a positive aspect of the physical examination practice. The obtained value is 3.0.the reference value that indicates a state of sound health and fitness lies within 2.7-4.3 .since our value lies within the said range, a state of forward flexion stability is achieved hence indicating well-being regarding forward flexion component of health. Negative aspects This physical examination aspects are out of the normal ranges. They are aspects that disclose various aspects of negativity on the physical assessment carried out; the total physical fitness score was poor in regards to all physical fitness parameters. It lies in the ranges that are equal or less than 18 points. Physical fitness takes into account all physical factors and the total earned points are tallied to gauge if in general fitness the person is healthy (Berbari, 2010). The aerobic function activity was below average it was deviating negatively from normal. It lies between the range of less or equal to 25.4 mL/Kg/Min. The maximum oxygen volume was not satisfactory for routine physical examination.it should tally with the recommended values in consideration of age and the sex of the individual (Lacy, 2011). The assessment of how well the lungs function was below average it was very poor it function was not well as expected, the function of the lungs was determined by checking the actual or predicted function volume capacity ratio. The results obtained from lab assessment was 0.74 which was poor compared to the normal reference value. PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE LAB PAPER 4 The body weight maximum ratio was poor. This ratio was used to determine grip strength it earned one point to the total physical fitness score. The ratio was 0.66 was very poor. The analysis involved critically assessing the maximum right grip maximum muscle strength and the maximum left grip muscle strengths. Then the grip sum/weight ratio is determined (HOEGER & Hoeger, 2012). Things that should be done to improve upon the negative aspects. To improve on this negative effects, improvements need to be directed on lifestyle factors such as evading smoking that compromise on lungs functionality and effectiveness in the gaseous exchange systems. In the assessment carried out, the predicted volume capacity ratio was 0.74 which showed poor results in comparison with the standard reference value. This disparity can be corrected by quitting smoking as a precautionary measure in combating this negative effect. Maximum right grip muscle and maximum left grip muscle strengths negative aspect can be acted upon by; performing balanced body exercises that are geared towards the development of all parts of the muscular body without concentrating on specific parts to evade a scenario of developing some parts and neglecting others. Another suitable way of solving this is through proper dietary adherence and selection of foods to allow and facilitates appropriate energy requirements .proper diet aids in availing essential energy for the energy generating processes and efficiency (Berbari, 2010). How does current lifestyle contribute to this results? Poorly checked diet and improper selection of diet greatly influences to increasing levels of vulnerability to this negative aspect of the results obtained from the assessment carried out. PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE LAB PAPER 5 Poor diet choice leads to abnormal growth and development leading to an imbalance in body systems leading to difficulty in carrying out useful exercises for the balanced development of physical body compartments (Lacy, 2011). Continuous exposure to increasing levels of smoke, dust particles and related particles that cause havoc to the respiratory systems especially the lungs leading to respiratory discomfort and complications. Things to change to achieve optimal level of well-being There are a couple of correction measures that need to be undertaken to achieve a great deal of well –being and achieve the full status of health satisfaction. You should avoid allergic agents this will reduce disorders that are associated with the respiratory system. Exposure to agents like dust, smoke, fur, and hair can significantly interfere with the healthy functioning of the lungs. Light physical exercise will make the lungs active and function in the right way this enhances the utilization of maximum oxygen holding capacity (HOEGER & Hoeger, 2012). One should balance the diet he/she takes; one should ensure that he/she take food that are free from excess fats, should consider taking fruits. The balance diet checks on the body weight it ensures that there is the equal distribution across the body. This ensures that the muscles are well developed. Regularly physical fitness checkup should be done for one to understand her state of physical well-being. This helps in providing prior corrective measures. Early detection and of abnormalities in physical fitness is quite easy and economical to reverse the situation (Berbari, 2010). PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE LAB PAPER References Berbari, A. (2010).
