Aldershot & District Lawn Tennis Association Affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association and the Hants & IOW LTA THE ALDERSHOT & FARNHAM TOURNAMENT - 2015 RULES 1. This is a postal tournament open to competitors who live in or play at a club in the ADLTA catchment area (approximately 10 miles from Aldershot). 2. The closing date for entries is Friday 1st May. 3. The draw will take place on Friday 8th May. No substitutes or additions permitted after this time. The draw will be published on the website and players will be contacted soon after this date. 4. In the event that there are not sufficient entries to run a particular event, the Committee reserve the right to combine or cancel any event. 5. All matches must be played by the specified dates. Extensions will only be given in exceptional circumstances by the event coordinator. 6. For the first round the player(s) first named on the draw sheet is at home. In subsequent rounds players who have had most away matches to date will have home advantage. Where a player has had a bye, this counts as a zero for the calculation. If both players have had an even number of away matches, then the top named player plays at home. Please email the organisers if there is any uncertainty. 7. The home player(s) has choice of courts and is primarily responsible for arranging the match so MUST contact their opponent as soon as possible. However the away player should also take responsibility for contacting their opponent. 8. Opponents must be offered at least three reasonably spaced dates within the set period on which to play the match. Players are urged to make every effort to agree mutually acceptable times to play. 9. Four match quality balls must be provided by the home team. Balls will be provided for the finals. 10. All matches will consist of the best of three tie - break sets, ie with a tie break at 6-6 in all three sets. 11. The winning player(s) must report the score of the match within 48 hours by email to adltatournament@hotmail.com. 12. Doubles pairings do not need to belong to the same Club, but should live in or play tennis in the ADLTA catchment area. 13. All entrants should be aware that Final’s Day is Sunday 6th September 2015 at the Bourne Club and ALL finals will be played on this date. 14. Most matches on Finals Day will be umpired by members of ABTO. (The Association of British Tennis Officials.) 15. All matches are to be played under LTA Rules and Code of Conduct.
