Sexual Diversity Studies University of Toronto Job Posting: Course Instructor SDS477H1S: Introduction to Trans Studies This course will introduce students to Trans Studies as an interdisciplinary field with a variety of academic and activist roots. It will look at historical, cultural, and contemporary representation of trans people, at how trans and intersexed people relate to gay, lesbian, feminist, critical race and disability politics (among others), at trans people’s activist efforts, and at how trans and intersexed people have engaged with the medical and legal regulation and construction of sex. Estimated Course Enrollment: 25 Class Schedule: Mondays 6-9pm Estimated TA Support: 0 Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2016 –April 30, 2016 Salary: $7,221.73 – this rate includes vacation pay Final availability of the position is contingent upon enrolment, budgetary consideration and the determination of appointments as governed by the collective agreement. Qualifications: Minimum M.A., Ph.D. in progress preferred; experience teaching in a university environment; relevant background in sexuality studies.
