One day prior to the Aboriginal Health Conference 2015
Rural Health West is pleased to invite regional
general practitioners and nurses, to the Diabetes
Management education workshop.
This workshop is aimed at general practitioners and
nurses who have an interest in diabetes
management. It will feature clinical updates and
interactive hands-on learning specifically designed for
managing diabetic patients; administering medication
and treatment options; and, tools to engage your
patient to obtain better health outcomes.
The workshop will provide the knowledge, skills and
confidence to:

Be familiar with and updated on the use of
different options available when administering
diabetes treatments.

Have improved skills in the management of
diabetic emergency presentations in general
practice.

Recognise difficult and challenging situations in
unstable patients in regards to the safety of the
patient and the doctor health care team.

Update skills, competence and confidence in
engaging and motivating patients to change
lifestyle habits and behaviour.

Be familiar with various techniques of
management to ensure optimum renal function
and reduce risk of chronic kidney disease.
This workshop is accredited with The Royal
Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
and the Australian College of Rural and Remote
Medicine (ACRRM) for continuing professional
development points.

Cancellations received at least four weeks prior to the workshop will receive a full refund of workshop fee. Cancellations received twenty eight (28) days
prior will receive a 50 per cent refund. Refunds for cancellations received with less than fourteen (14) days notice will be considered on an individual case
