2015 Webinar Series Nurse Led Clinics Rural Health West is offering FREE a two-part webinar series on Nurse Led Clinics. These webinars are aimed at practice principals, general practitioners, practice managers and practice nurses and can be attended from the comfort and convenience of your office or home on Thursday 21 January 2016 and Thursday 28 January 2016. Each session is scheduled to run for one hour and commences at 1.00pm (Western Australian time). Presented by Donna vonBlackensee, a registered nurse and CEO of CD Program Development, these webinars have been created specifically for rural Western Australian general practices. Participants will explore what it takes to build the necessary framework to support chronic disease management programs, including: Giving an introduction to nurse led clinics Outlining the benefits of nurse led chronic disease clinics in general practice – that is, benefits for patients, the practice, nurses and general practitioners Discussing what is involved and how to implement strategies Setting up appointment schedules Working through the key Medicare Benefit Schedule items that can be used in a nurse led chronic disease clinic Looking at how clinics can increase diabetes and asthma Service Incentive Payments (SIPS) Setting up Recalls and Reviews How to evaluate a nurse led clinic to ensure continuous quality improvement The Presenter: Donna vonBlackensee has developed and delivers nationally accredited training that has participants design and implement chronic disease screening programs for clients within their organisation. Donna has worked extensively in the primary health care setting and was awarded the Australian Primary Care Nurse Associations ‘Best Practice Award – Chronic Disease Management’ for 2014; is a member of the Australian Health Care Nurse Association, Australian College of Nursing, and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation.
