RURAL HEALTH WEST EDUCATION WORKSHOPS Neonatal Emergency Care THURSDAY 11 AND FRIDAY 12 JUNE 2015 | GERALDTON The Neonatal Emergency Care course is combined training for general practitioners, GP obstetricians and midwives. The workshop provides obstetric teams with the necessary skills to effectively manage problems which may occur during delivery and post-natal care. Day One − Neonatal Resuscitation Program: This workshop is accredited with The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for continuing professional development points and is approved for the Rural Procedural Grants Program. Please contact your relevant college before attending, to ascertain your eligibility. To register please complete and return the registration form overleaf. All successful applicants will be sent written confirmation. Workshop material, including pre-reading information will be sent shortly thereafter. A course fee is required to confirm your place in the workshop. understanding the physiology of normal transition at birth; understanding approaches to neonatal resuscitation; participant demonstration of proficient resuscitation skills; participant demonstration of the ability to lead full neonatal resuscitation and coordinate the response of others; and understanding how lessons learnt can be implemented to improve care in the local setting. Day Two – S.T.A.B.L.E By the end of this program the participants will gain an increased understanding of stabilising a baby prior to transportation to a tertiary hospital and/ or medically managing an unwell baby in a local hospital.
