Time Frame
Day 1: Introduce project slideshow showing them examples and explain to them that a wire
sculpture is like drawing with wire and that they are simply using the wire to draw a
picture. The students will then draw a couple line drawings of their hands to make a
beginning sculpture of.
Day 2 & 3: students will create a wire sculpture of their hand and create a base out of clay.
Day 4: Students will go around the school and look at different places around the school
and sketch ideas for wire sculptures that will be installations around the school. These
sculptures will have to be related to the wing they are found in. They can not be an ‘E’ or
antlers, students must be creative.
Day 5: Students will be paired up to make a sculpture from their ideas. They will
brainstorm and share their idea with the group.
