Postdoctoral Fellowship in Immunology / Surgery The Division of Trauma and Critical Care at Northwestern University is seeking a qualified individual for a newly available Postdoctoral/Research Associate position in the laboratory of Steven Schwulst. Qualified applicants will possess a PhD, MD/PhD, or MD as well as experience in immunology or neuroimmunology. The projects focus on the role of innate immunity in traumatic brain injury (TBI). More specifically, our laboratory focuses on macrophage and microglia polarization and its effect on both the peripheral immune response as well as the repair and regeneration response within the injured brain. To further this goal, we utilize a murine model traumatic brain injury as well as multiple immunologic assays, histologic assays, and advanced multichannel flow cytometry. To be competitive for this position, the applicant must have significant experience with advanced flow cytometry and have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Previous familiarity with a variety of immunologic assays, transgenic mouse models, as well as biochemical and molecular biological techniques is preferable.
