Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time
Technology Specialist. This position’s primary work scheduling will be at the Floyd County
Campus location. However, job duties may include some travel to other GNTC sites on an asneeded basis. The successful applicant must have a schedule that would allow for work hours
during the daytime with the possibility of afternoon, evening, or weekend scheduling if
necessary.
Required Qualifications: Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college and
work experience in an IT environment; or high school diploma or GED and two years or more
full-time work experience in a college or corporate IT environment. Excellent technical skills,
oral and written communication skills, as well as a customer service oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college.
Three years experience or more in an IT environment. Industry recognized certifications of
competence from CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco. Knowledge and experience regarding
Windows 7 installation and troubleshooting, Microsoft Office 2010 support, PC deployment,
printer installation and repair, TCP/IP, VLANs and switches, wireless networks, and audio/video
systems.
